Howdy folks! It is that time again. We will dive into fashion trends and then see what we can recreate in The Sims 4 with CC from here, The Sims Resource. And today, we are sliding down the fall fashion runway in western looks! Fall and western fit so nicely together that it only makes sense that this is a trendy and in-style look.
The specific elements of these outfits will be linked as always so that you can download them and create your own fall western looks!
What do I mean by Fall Western Looks???
Many things can be within fall western looks and have a wide variety within the aesthetic. Of course, cowboy hats, jeans, leather, flannel, boots, long jackets, fur, ruffles, and fringe are only some of the fashion pieces used for fall western looks.
CC – White Hat & Brown Hat (EA)
This look is perfect for the in-between fall and winter as it generally includes lots of layering. As we all know, layers in this time of the year keeps you warmer. Of course, those who live in a more tropical area don’t have to worry about any cold weather nonsense.
Why is it Trending
Why is this fall western aesthetic trending? Well, the truth is, fall western looks seems to trend this time EVERY year. This nice spot right after Halloween and before Thanksgiving here in the states. I also call this ‘The Han Solo season because of all the tight pants and boots (an element of this western fall trend and the Han Solo look).
Where to find the CC
This grouping of CC is a little more elusive as it can be mixed in with many other aesthetic looks. There is a Wild West category that does have many pieces. Another way to look is to search for specific items such as; plaid, coat, cowboy, western, or leather. Now, many of these aspects of the looks have LOADS of CC. You might have to search a bit, but you also have my links and what you find!

I will add that many of the Steampunk’d Collab are perfect for this aesthetic as they have many similar properties to the fall western look trend. I did not add anything with gears, and there are plenty of charming pieces you can use for your western-inspired looks!

What you need
The following are my suggestions and observations of the fall western look trend. Of course, there are more options, loads more, but these aspects seem to be the core components of this look. I searched through Pinterest and google to gain inspiration for these looks, so enjoy, and I hope you find tons of CC for your fall western looks!
1. Texture & Patterns
One of the first things I noticed with this aesthetic, aside from the hats and boots, was that most of the tops had some form of texture or plaid pattern. If the top was not plaid, it generally had fringe, lace, or leather elements. You can totally find it for your Sims here at The Sims Resource!

2. Boots
Boots are an important element to this look; there is just no way around it! I would go as far as saying that boots are more important than hats! Just from a practical sense, you cannot work on a ranch or farm without boots. If you had tennis shoes or sandals on, bad things would happen.

*For those who did not know, a ranch and a farm are two different things here in the States. A Ranch has grazing animals (like cows) and is generally over forty acres, and a farm has crops. Sometimes a farm has both, but the primary element is what classifies the type of land.
3. Jeans
Tight-fitted jeans are a principal element for fall western looks. This, again, is much due to the practicality of jeans. They are thick enough to keep legs warm, but if given the right pair, the wearer can move relatively easily. There are so many jeans here at The Sims Resource to select from… good luck downloading just a couple pairs! HAHA!

4. Updos & Braids
Again with the practicality factor, we have long hair… updos, and braids. This is generally easier if you are working or wearing a hat. I am not saying you cannot do this look with short hair or your hair down; this is one of those elements commonly found within the style. And not to mention, check out these adorable braids by S-Club.

5. Cowboy Hat
Ah yes, here we are… the cowboy hat. What else is there to say… they look good… they real look good.

Did you know that the timeless cowboy hat has been a thing since before the 1860s? According to this article the cowboy hat originated from the hat that Vaqueros (cowboys from Mexico and the word in Spanish means cowboy). The Vaqueros wore wide brimmed sombreros to protect them from the hot western sun while they were heading cattle. Overtime the cowboy hat changed a bit to what we know it as today.
The Results
Hopefully, you found some excellent CC for your Sims to match this current fall western looks trend! Or maybe you want to use the highlighted CC to create your own or mix things up a bit! All the same, I find this looks pretty fun! I am a big fan of plaid, layers, and western… well, cowboys. HAHA!

All jokes aside, this is a popular look in my area as I live in a very rural area of the States. So I see it all the time and catching it as a fall trend just feels natural. The layers, textures, boots… it all makes sense.
