Before completely jumping into 2024, look at this TSR 2023 Wrap up! Loads of exciting things happened in the Simming Community and on TSR during 2023. There were thousands of creations uploaded to TSR, so we will look at the twenty-five most downloaded items from 2023 and some other top content. So, let’s take one more look at 2023!
Big Things in 2023 – The Sims 4
The extensive ticket features in 2023 were the long-awaited For Rent and Horse Ranch Expansion Packs! Elements from both packs have been requested by the community for a long time! The For Rent Expansion pack allows Simmers to rent and own rental lots. This system is much more complex than the apartment system with City Living. The new pack will enable Sims to interact more with their neighbors, collect rent, snoop, and much more! The Horse Ranch Expansion Pack introduced horses, goats, and little sheep to our worlds. Of course, there were also kits and stuff packs throughout the year, but these two expansion packs were the big-ticket items of 2023!
TSR Changes 2023
For TSR, there were loads of changes in 2023; one of the most notable changes was the submission system. The new improved submission system allows artists to upload faster and easier… meaning more time to create CC! The system is designed to flow better to offer a more robust experience for submitting artists! Of course, there are loads more updates and site changes that have happened and are happening, and we cannot wait to continue to improve the user and artist experience on TSR.
The 25 Most Downloaded CC of 2023
Here are the twenty-five most downloaded CCs; for various reasons, these CC items had the most people download them. I will try to explain why I think each one is on this list based on trends, but I could be completely off! We all know Simmer and IRL trends sometimes don’t always line up! LOL
1. Shakeproductions – Sneakers 980
These sneakers 980 were the top downloads in 2023, with over 275k downloads! I absolutely love the design of these sneakers! They are perfect for Sims’ athletic looks! Activewear was super popular in 2023, and we expect to see it even more in 2024. We will undoubtedly see a lot of activewear and sporty chic looks in the future!
2. Anto – Maree Hairstyle
This is one of my personal favorite hairstyles on TSR. It came in as number two for our top downloads for 2023. But look at all those swatches! I like this so much because I can use it on my Simself as it has a dark red color swatch.
3. ArwenKaboom – Arran Kitchen 5/5
For our third top download, we have this adorable kitchen item set. This was no surprise for me as I know firsthand how much you all like your plants and clutter! This set has both!
4. Anto – Juan Hairstyle
This hairstyle has loads of swatches; the one thing I particularly love about it is its natural and bright hair colors. That is a lot of swatches!
5. S-Club – Long Straight Hairstyle
Simmers love hairstyles! This Long Straight Hairstyle by S-Club is a lovely addition to your game as it can be used for various styles. From formal to casual, this hairstyle works for all types of looks!
6. ShakeProductions – Sneakers 993
See, I told you activewear was in! Here is another pair of sneakers in the top twenty-five downloads for 2023.
7. ArwenKaboom – Arran Kitchen 4/5
More lovely clutter and kitchen items are in this top downloads list for 2023. These items just finish off a kitchen build so nicely!
8. Wingssims- Lithe, Long Curly Hair
This hairstyle is absolutely stunning. I love the layers in this style and the loose curl.
9 – WingsSims – Slight Curly Hair
Another gorgeous hairstyle is in this listing by WingsSims. I absolutely love curly hairstyles. Of course, I am biased as I have long, curly hair. So naturally, I need to download lots of these types of hairstyles.
10. Anto – Maddie Hairstyle
Anto has so many hair color swatches included in their hairstyles. I just cannot get over how lovely all these colors and styles are.
11. WingsSims – Bouffant Curl Hair
I just love all these curly hairstyles! There are so many in this top twenty-five downloads listing. This has to have been a super trend for Simmers in 2023.
12 S-Club – High Ponytail Curly Hairstyle
This curly hairstyle is a lovely ponytail that can be used for all sorts of outfit styles. I just love hairstyles that work for all outfit types! This hairstyle by S-Club works great for formal, hot weather, casual, and athletic styles!
13. Leah Lillith – Veronica Hairstyle
This is a super cute braided pigtail hairstyle by LeahLilith. And again, so many swatches: blondes, browns, blacks, reds, and bright colors! So many to select from!
14. Shakeproductions – Sneakers 989
I am actually surprised with the super trend of sneakers and curly hair. We can see this trend continuing in 2024, so we will have to cover more of these styles so you can download more CCs!
15. Thisisthem – Amina Skin Overlay
I absolutely love skin overlays! They help me create unique-looking Sims in half the time! Overlays generally have highlights, contour, and shading, just like this skin, so you get all that in one download!
16. Severinka – Functional Infant Cribs
With more playability with infants, Simmers needed more cribs. This crib set gives you several cribs to select from so that you can design different nurseries for your SIM infants.
17. S-Club – Long Straight Hair With Braid
This is a super cute and sporty chic hairstyle. The braid just adds another level of detail to the overall hairstyle. I could see this hairstyle with a sporty set for an overall look!
18. Plumbobs N Fries – Cade Sweatpants
Even masculine-styled Sims need sporty clothing! These sweatpants were the most downloaded piece of apparel at TSR in 2023!
19. Wondymoon – Diceros Bedroom
This is a super classy black and white bedroom set by Wondymoon. It’s so clean. I absolutely love it; I am definitely adding this to my game!
20. Lin Dan – Suspenders Home Clothes
For feminine styles, this Suspenders Home Clothes was the most downloaded item. It has some lovely texture in the sweater dress and looks absolutely cozy!
21. Wondymoon – Alces Kitchen Part 1
Take a look at this beautiful and clean kitchen! I just love that shade of green with the wood tones! It is gorgeous!
22. Ardenn Living Room Pt 1
This living room set is super modern, and I love a nice sectional. Sectional couches make the best furniture for large living rooms in my opinion, and this one is so nice.
23. SimCelebrity00 – Kenny Hairstyle Set
The Kenny Hairstyle is our top Maxis Match download of 2023! This hairstyle comes loaded with twenty-four EA swatches, including ombre-styled swatches.
24. Wondymoon – Alces Kitchen Part 3
This Alces Kitchen set is just so lovely; there is no surprise that there are multiple parts of this set in the top 2023 downloads.
25. Christopher067 – Stratosphere Necklace
This lovely layered accessory necklace is for our final top twenty-five downloads for 2023. I love celestial-themed accessories, so I am downloading this as well!
