Styling Sims With Jezi – Elder Sims

Your Elder Sims need some love too!!! Help your Elder Sims with some of these Create A Sim Styling Tips for your Elder Sims! They are expiring as fashion tragedies and need your help!

Elder Sims

From my observations and… experience the Elder Sims are often left out in regard to well… everything… makeovers, gameplay, all of it.  How many of you really actively play your Elder Sims… These Sims are at the end of the life cycle and we abandon them for the younger Sims. And then we wonder why they act grouchy like poor Agnes here!

Create An Elder Sim Tips and Tricks

Tip 1 – Have a Plan

With any styling design, you need to have a plan.  It does not have to be specific just a general idea of what you would like to do.  For this Sim I wanted a country or farmer look with suspenders and a hat.  When I was looking at CC it was much easier for me to limit and select exactly what I needed with only a few downloads… I may still have had extra options in my basket.

Tip 2 – Download CC

Once you have that plan kinda down, head on over and download some CC!  This way you know what you are looking for rather than scroll through THOUSANDS of clothes… Well, actually there are over a MILLION uploaded creations on The Sims Resource.  Have a general idea of what you want to download, because if not you are going to be scrolling FOREVER!  What an amazing problem to have… LOADS of CC! Love it!

Tip 3 – Elder Style CC

You probably do not know this but there are sets totally designed with Elder Sims in mind! Dissia has a full Grandma Collection that has all sorts of traditional Grandma outfits and shoes! Turksimmer also has a group of nice dresses with cardigan sweaters that are perfect for your Grannies! Of course, these are only two examples and there are way more options avilable!

Tip 4 – Use Skin Details

One of the best ways to really make your Sims look unique is by adding CC skin details and overlays.  And contrary to popular belief there are quite a bit for Elder Sims.  I suggest RemusSirion’s Elder Skin, MSQSims’ Edith, Harry, or Rosemary Skin, and Valuka’s Overlay Elder Skin.  By adding these details you can ‘preserve’ the realistic effects of age… Just what we all really want… right… But it works for Sims!

Tip 5 – Don’t Limit Yourself

With any creating and styling, if you want to try something different or a little off tradition… DO IT! It is your game, you play your way, create your way.  If you want a Biker Grannie in leathers… download CC and go create that Biker Grannie!

So you go out and create your Sims how you want, my tips and tricks are only here to help if you choose to use them.  I make a lot of Sims and abandon them so I figure my experience in Sim design and style may be of use to you all.  Hope you all enjoy it!
