Since we are now into December, we can discuss the December holidays! Which means Sims 4 Winterfest! If you are new to the game or don’t play the gameplay, this blog is for you! We are going to dive deep into the Sims 4 holiday Winterfest! We are going to pick this holiday apart and really look at all the things you can do gameplay-wise in the Sims 4 Winterfest holiday!
Holiday Season
The month of December is full of big holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Hanukkah is December 10th thru the 18th, Christmas is December 25th, and Kwanzaa is December 26th thru January 1st. All of these holidays bring people together and celebrate traditions. So, with this in mind, there is no surprise that The Sims 4 has a significant holiday in the winter calendar.
What is Winterfest
In the Sims 4, the primary winter holiday is called Winterfest. Winterfest is an event that comes in The Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack. The holiday is like a very light Christmas. Although you can prepare, it is only one day, unlike real life.

The Pack
The Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack came out on June 22, 2018. This pack includes seasonal changes, weather, floral designs, and holidays for your Sims. Winterfest is one of the new holidays included in this pack.
What can you do with the Winterfest Holiday?
With the addition of the Winterfest holiday, many activities are included. These activities include decorating, opening presents, grand meals, social festive spirit interactions, and Father Winter.
Decorate
Of course, you can decorate the inside and outside of your Sims’ lots with the Attic Stack Decoration Box. There are loads of options, and you may have to look up what each type of building is to get your decorations just right. I for sure had to look up what a frieze was! So, no judgment here!
Presents
So Winterfest is like Christmas and other holidays that do gift giving, so presents are involved. Your Sims can use the present pile, get them from Father Winter, or give and receive presents from each other.
Grand Meal
Like many holidays, food is included, and with Winterfest, many Sims want to have a Grand Meal with their loved ones. For Grand Meals, there are a few options: Fish Dinner, Ham Dinner, Grand Breakfast, Tofurkey Dinner, and Turkey Dinner. I would love to see more meals from other parts of the world added to this section.
Festive Spirit
A Festive Spirit is obtained by interactions and actions prompted by the holiday. Some of these activities and some social interactions are produced by the holiday. For Winterfest, all the Winterfest-specific Festive Spirit interactions will have a little mistletoe on them, so you will know precisely which ones complete this aspect of the holiday.
Father Winter
A special Townie will appear on your Sims lots during the Winterfest event. This guest is none other than Father Winter himself! He will appear at your lot at 8pm and stay until 2am! Giving you plenty of time to get your gifts and socialize with Father Winter. Of course, if you have a large family, it can be rough to get every Sim in. As for me, Father Winter is always very chatty!
Who is Father Winter
In the original Sims and Sims 2, there was Santa Claus… now in The Sims 4, we have Father Winter. Which has a lot of similarities to Santa Claus, just spruced up for The Sims. Just like the legend of Santa Claus, Father Winter will appear at your Sims’ fireplace or front door on Winterfest and give your Sims presents. Father Winter dresses in a blue coat and hat and has a long white beard. I like this look much better than the traditional Santa suit as it looks more classy and fancy! He is magical, after all!
Gifts
If your Sim is good, they will receive good gifts. Sims who are on the naughty list get naughty gifts such as coal or pet poop.
Of course, if you know your Sim is on the naughty list, they can always fight Father Winter for gifts…
Romance
I know everyone who has never tried is asking… can I get with Father Winter… Yes, Yes, you can. Now, if he moves in with you, another Father Winter will take his place when he becomes playable (Just like Agnes and Agatha Crumplebottom). But do not worry. Your Sim is with the original Father Winter.
The only trick with this is that you only have from 8pm to 2am to make a lasting impression. Become at least be friends so you can invite him back. Or… there are cheats, and you can add him to your household and keep him. Is this considered that kidnapping Father Winter?

Skills
Father Winter has excellent family skills. He is maxed in the following: Parenting, Baking, and Cooking. I’m just saying Father Winter is a perfect option for my Sims!
Immune To Death
Not only does he have excellent skills for partnering up with a Sim with kids or one that wants children… but he is also immune to many types of deaths. Hence, I could not freeze Father Winter to death last year when I tried so hard to do so. Now, I have yet to try this out, so I am not one hundred percent sure which Sim deaths this includes, but for sure, he will not freeze to death.
Moving in
If Father Winter moves into your household, he comes with 500,000 Simoleons. I know if you cheat your funds, this is peanuts, but if you are playing without cheats… Father Winter could help you out quite a bit.
So that this is not exploited, Father Winters, who appears after the original moved in, will only have 20k. So you cannot keep bringing in Father Winters at 500k a round.
Baby Daddy
If you have a child with Father Winter, they get some magical inheritance. Any child of Father Winter gets the Father Winter’s Child Trait. This trait is excellent for legacy and generation challenges as it boosts Sims’s satisfaction gain by 50%.
Summary
Hopefully, this blog taught you a little more about the Sims 4 Winterfest holiday! I sure had fun testing everything out, and I think this holiday has a lot of gameplay. If your Sims are reasonable, you can get some awesome gifts from Father Winter! Now, which Sim to marry Father Winter in my gameplay save… Bella is newly single…
