Welcome back to Room Reno #50 here at The Sims Resource! Today we’re helping Sims who want a fresh, new, and cozy outdoor space for their new home. Let’s meet them!
Meet Jen and Mary!
Jen and Mary recently bought a house in Oasis Springs. The house has the space and architectural details that they dreamed about, but there’s just one problem: the backyard is barely fit for entertaining! They host their nieces and siblings once a week, and with the great weather they want to have a pool and fire pit to help take their parties to the next level. The yard isn’t huge, but it definitely has a lot of potential to become the space that Jen and Mary want. Let’s see what we’re working with!
The Before
This backyard is cute, but it obviously doesn’t suit the needs that Jen and Mary have. I love the current plants, so I’m going to try and incorporate them as much as possible into the final renovation. I like the patio set, too–I’ll definitely have to put one in the space so that the family can enjoy food together in the beautiful Oasis Springs weather. Fitting a barbecue is also on the list, but we’ll have to see if there’s space in the platformed lounge area I’m thinking of that can fit it. Let’s get planning!
The Planning
The planning is pretty simple for this space, mostly because there’s not a ton of it to work with. I want to create a platformed area for the pool and some lounge chairs to help break up the space, and use a big fire pit across from it. I’m going to drape some lights across the fire pit to help define that area of the space as well. Some lawn games are going to help add some fun, too–I have horseshoes in mind, but I might put something different down when it comes down to it. Let’s get building!
The After
I want to roast a marshmallow by this fire pit so badly! It just looks so cozy and warm to sit around with friends and family on a cool summer night. The lounge and pool area are also pretty cool–I would have loved to play at a pool like this as a kid. As an adult, I just want to chill by the poolside and watch everyone splash around while sipping a cold drink. Jen and Mary will love using their new space to entertain their friends and family, and I can’t wait to see how they use it!
