Welcome back to Room Reno #47 here at The Sims Resource! Today we’re helping a Sim who wants to live in a sci-fi paradise using the brand new CyFi collection, exlcusive to The Sims Resource! Let’s meet them.
Meet Stella!
Stella is a Sim who wants to live in a science-fiction future. She dresses and even does her makeup like she’s living in the year 3000. Stella wants her bedroom to be just as futuristic as her fashion, and she has lots of simoleons saved up for it. There’s just one problem–she doesn’t have a creative vision! With the help of the Room Reno team, Stella’s boring bedroom is going to turn into something that looks like it was a set from Blade Runner (but more functional, obviously!). Let’s see what we’re working with!
The Before
Stella’s room is nice and big, which means I can put a lot of sculptural and architectural details around to help enhance the space. As it stands, the room is very empty–there’s really just a bed and not much else in this enormous space! I love the big windows along the back of the house. They allow a lot of natural light into the room while also still looking futuristic by going from floor to ceiling, allowing for a panoramic view of the city below. Let’s get planning!
The Planning
This room is going to be divided into two main areas, to help create some visual interest in the room as well as to make it easier to furnish–starting with a huge, empty room is a real challenge for a lot of builders. This struggle can be seen in a lot of EA builds in particular, which tend to feel sort of empty and incomplete. To avoid this, try dividing your rooms into multiple smaller areas with different functions so that you aren’t at such a loss when you begin. Let’s get building!
The After
As someone who had never actually done a futuristic room design before, I really adore how this room turned out. The pops of light blue are so pretty, and the white and black main colors help to make the space feel stark and clean without making it feel too sterile or boring. My favorite piece of furniture is the bed, which is incredible because the side tables are actually built into the sides–and you can even slot items onto them! This collab has some of the coolest Sims objects I’ve ever seen.
