Welcome back to Room Reno #30 here at The Sims Resource! Today we’re helping a Sim who wants to live off the grid in her very own log cabin. Let’s meet her!
Meet Elissa!
Elissa recently graduated from University of Britechester and has always wanted to have a log cabin of her very own, much like her grandma used to have when she was little. She loves to garden and would love to take care of chickens at her new place, too! Because she has a small budget, she’s decided upon a tiny home for the time being, but is open to expanding as time goes on. Let’s check out the land she bought!
The Before
The lot that Elissa bought in Newcrest is small but definitely workable for her needs. The abundance of natural resources around the place will definitely help her out as she starts her life out at the place once it’s built–fishing and hunting for frogs are both great sources of simoleons! Since this is a completely blank lot, figuring out where everything is going to go is probably going to be a challenge. Let’s get into that!
The Planning
I started my planning with the biggest room in the house, the living and sleeping area. Since the house is going to be tiny, I figured it would be easiest to put all the living necessities in one open space instead of closing the space off into several smaller rooms. A large patio space was also a must for this build, since Elissa will be doing most of her work outdoors. The patio will allow for a seating area for dining, which wouldn’t fit in the tiny indoor space. Now that the planning is…planned, let’s get building!
The After
And here’s the finished build! Just look how cute this little cabin turned out! Imagine it in the winter–the snow makes builds like this look so beautiful. I was really happy to find a chicken coop that matched the aesthetic of the house perfectly–I hope Elissa gets her little chickies soon after moving in! I also love the quilt on the bed in the cabin, which brings some light and color into what could otherwise be a pretty drab and dark cabin.
