Death. The end of life. It comes for all of us, and even for our Sims. Death is something all humans and Sims fear. We obsess over the thought of it. When will it come for us? And our Sims are no different. The update to Whims in July 2022 introduced wants and fears to The Sims 4, adding more to how Sims feel and think. Being afraid of death is one of those fears. When Sims are afraid of death, they can’t just brush off the lingering fear—they need to talk it through.
A Lingering Fear of Death
But what happens when the dead still fear death? Over on r/Sims4, posted by Mx-Adrian, we see a Sim ghost who still fears death. Is this a lingering fear from when they were once living? Or maybe this ghost is nervous about what lies ahead in his afterlife journey. Having faced death once, perhaps he fears a second one creeping closer. Luckily for this undead Sim, he has the chance to return to life by indulging in some Ambrosia. All he needs to make this reviving dish is Angelfish, Death Flower, and a Potion of Youth. Easy, right? Probably not. He could also make a Wish for Life at the Wishing Well if he prefers an easier route.
Easing The Fears
However, if he does not wish to revive himself, he can always talk his fears out with a fellow Sim ghost. Have him pour out his beating heart about whatever death-related fears haunt him. Or if he thinks another ghost will make fun of him or his unusual fears, he can always go to Grim himself. Gifting Grim a Death Flower will ease the fears of death that befuddle his ghostly mind. A comforting conversation with Grim could definitely help ease the fears of death. Next time you have a Sim who’s afraid of death, you’ll know how to guide them through their journey, whether they’re alive or in the afterlife. Dag Dag!
