Welcome back to a lookbook here at The Sims Resource! Today we’re showcasing a variety of looks inspired by Season 3 of Netflix’s Emily in Paris. Before we get into the looks, I want to give a huge shoutout to The Sims Resource artist Jolea, who created the Lily Collins Sim I used to model all these looks. Your work is amazing! Now, let’s get into the styles.
Pink and Red
This is an absolutely killer look! I love the combination of pink and red in the dress, and the mint shoes add a refreshing pop of color to an already colorful look. The updo is also really pretty and unexpected, though this is before the infamous bang-cutting scene, so Emily’s hair is totally sleek and pulled back here. I love how she used a really simple earring to let the outfit stand out, too! What a strong outfit to start the season out on.
Pretty in Plaid
I gotta be honest, I love a high waisted pant more than pretty much any other style of pants. And the pair that Emily wears, when combined with a preppy plaid blazer and a tank top underneath? Absolutely stunning. She keeps her hair in loose waves in this scene, which is probably my favorite of the ways she wears her hair in the casual scenes this season. Dangly earrings complete the look, et voila! Emily is ready to shop with her bestie.
Zebra Flair
This outfit looked totally crazy to me in the show, but I really love how it turned out in game! I swapped out Emily’s puffy zebra top for a shiny zebra skirt, which I think retains the same cool vibe as the original look while also being a little more wearable. I added an exposed-seam top that matched the vibe and a pair of black booties to add a little height. The hairstyle is also cute and cool, with two little space buns swept to the sides of Emily’s head. It’s never a bad time for a little animal print!
Orange You Glad…?
This is such a fun workwear outfit! I love the pop of the orange jacket on top of an otherwise put-together and professional work outfit. The pulled back hair makes the outfit even more sleek and classy. I really love the puffer jacket detail here, as it makes the outfit feel fun and youthful instead of stuffy, and the earrings are a fun little detail without being too overwhelming. I would totally wear these pants to work in a heartbeat–it manages to be appropriate and also fun and spunky at the same time!
High Contrast
This is Emily’s funemployment look, and it honestly grew on me the longer I watched it. I think pairing the vibrant dress and very extravagant shoes with a simple hairstyle works really well for her! Emily manages to make a lot of very bright and clashing outfits look incredible, and I honestly envy her ability to wear pretty much whatever she wants in the show (even if some of the outfits are a little out there). I also admire Emily for walking all around Paris in those insane metallic heeled boots! I wish I had that sort of stamina in real life.
Back to Black
This is initially a somber look in the season, as there’s a bit of mystery in the air as to the fate of a certain character. And right on time to match the theme, Emily whips out an incredible black minidress that I’m honestly coveting. Sometimes I think the universality of the little black dress is overplayed, but then I see a dress like this and I think I might have to give it another try. I love the elegant updo paired with it–it really fits the seriousness of the situation while also just being very pretty and professional. The boots are a nice way to keep the outfit classy and dressed up while still being practical–we don’t all have time for pumps, especially when you’re walking around outside! Finally, the sparkly drop earrings add a little bit of playfulness to the ensemble, perfect for when the occasion turns out to be a happy one. All in all, I think this might be in my top 3 looks for the season. I know, I’m shocked too! I normally don’t love all-black looks, but this one was perfect.
Blue Velvet
This is my absolute favorite look this season. I adore women in menswear pieces, and this blue suit is incredible. The way that Emily pins her hair back to create a 1920s inspired bob is adorable, and the dangly earrings also give a sort of flapper aesthetic. Simple heeled boots tie the outfit together and create a perfect going-out look!
Colorful Workwear
This is probably the craziest outfit Emily wears in the show, and she wears it to work! I have to admire her commitment to her own style, that’s for sure. She keeps her hair simple and wears a bright red crop top with a bright orange skirt. As if continuing the sunset theme, she wears sparkly purple boots on the bottom (though if I were her, I would have gone for yellow to continue the warm-toned color gradient). If only every workplace allowed for Emily’s outfits!
Daisy Chain
This outfit makes me want to start stringing daisy chains! It manages to be cute and girly while also rocking the monochrome trend that’s been going around recently. I totally love yellow and it makes me think of all my favorite spring days. I love the bright yellow coat over the simple dress. Cute mary-janes complete the look and make it totally sweet and adorable. The swept-back bangs and dangly pearl earrings complete the outfit and make it totally perfect for a day eating croissants in Paris with your bestie (and talking all the drama in your lives)!
