Welcome back to The Sims Resource! Today, we’re going through some of the best custom content on the site for your Sims to use on their beach vacations (or just as their swimwear outfits). Every member of the family should be able to enjoy the sunshine, so there are selections of vacation CC for everyone from toddlers to adults. Let’s get into it!
60’s Inspired
Top | Bottoms | Hair | Earrings |
Lashes | Sandals | Sunglasses |
I went in a sixties inspired direction for the mom of the family’s beach outfit. I was probably inspired by the new Simxties collection here at The Sims Resource and the huge amounts of custom content I have from the collection. The sixties have a lot of iconic silhouettes, and you can see the accents in this bathing suits with features like cap sleeves on the top, a floral patterned fabric, and even a belt around the waist! I don’t think bathing suit belts are very practical, but I think that just means this suit is meant more for lounging than actual swimming. The accessories are also sixties inspired, with a tied back ponytail (I love the scarf holding it back) and big, statement daisy earrings. Color coordinated purple sandals complete the look – time to hit the beach!
Sunny Day
Hair | Swim Trunks | Sandals | Necklace | Earrings |
I thought I would go with a more traditional modern beach look for the dad of my Sim family, though I added a few accessories to add some flair. The hair is wavy and piecy, and it sort of made me think of what happens to curly hair after swimming in salt water. For the swim trunks, I chose a simple blue pair and paired (hehe) it with some matching blue sandals. The sandals come with an awesome silver anklet as part of the shoes, which I think is a really neat touch for a piece of footwear custom content. The silver anklet made me consider my accessory choices, leading me to go with a silver chain necklace to match the anklet. I finished the look with a pair of diamond stud earrings – just be careful not to lose them in the ocean!
Floppy Hat Fit
Hat | Hair | Dress |
Sandals | Bracelet | Eyebrows |
I had to include swimsuit cover ups (or more general beach travel fashion) in this lookbook because there were just so many great options! I love this floral dress, which works as the perfect easy sundress for a day lazing around the hotel, going exploring, or worn over a bathing suit while on the way to a beach or waterpark (Seriously, I want waterparks and hotels in this game SO bad). I added a large brimmed sunhat to the outfit to protect the Sim from the sun, because if you have The Sims 4: Island Living your Sim can get burnt if they aren’t wearing sunscreen! The hair on this look is so pretty – it went in my basket real quick when I was downloading CC for this blog! The braids in the front are *chef’s kiss*.
Surf’s Up
Hair | Swim Trunks | Rash Guard | Sandals |
I thought it would be a lot harder to find vacation CC for Sims of every age group when I started looking for it on TSR. It went ridiculously faster than I thought it would, and the selection for male children is way better than I initially thought! My Sims’ sons are about to be dripped out, much like the Sim in this picture. I love the inclusion of a rash guard – my siblings always used to wear them when we were growing up to prevent sunburn but also to prevent rashes from playing in the ocean or boogie boarding for hours on end. The colorful trunks are favorites of mine – life is too short to wear plain swim trunks! The hair is probably my favorite, though – the wavy texture is hard to find sometimes, but this hair looks totally accurate while maintaining the Maxis Match aesthetic.
Cute and Curious
Hair | Shirt | Swim Trunks | Shoes |
This family has two toddler sims, and I knew I had my work cut out for me when it came to styling their beach looks. Toddlers can play in kiddie pools with supervision and can do a little bit of splashing around in the ocean as well, so I wanted to create a swim friendly look for our boy toddler here. I put him in a tee shirt to protect against sunburns, though it took me a bit to find one that matched the navy swim trunks I chose for the bottom of the outfit. The sea-themed tiger shirt looks pretty cute, and I’m happy I took the extra time to find it! I went with some slip on sneakers for shoes, imagining them to be like the water shoes a lot of people had as kids to protect against stepping on shells or hot sand. The hair reminds me a lot of the 90’s, with a center part and slightly curly ends. Time to hit the beach!
Ready to Play
Hair | Outfit | Shoes | Eyebrows |
This toddler outfit was so precious I downloaded it the MOMENT I saw it while I was scrolling. It’s so perfectly beachy and perfect for letting your tot run around before a nice dinner at a beachfront resort or for walking around a local attraction, like a small theme park or mini-golfing. The leggings make it practical for a kid who might skin their knee running around in excitement, and the sandals are so accurate to real life toddler shoes with the straps around the front and the ankle. The hair on this outfit is probably my absolute favorite part, though – the texture is so lovely! I look for textured and curly hairs on this site all the time because I know they’re hard to get right, and this one got it 100% perfect for people with wavy hair.
