Sul Sul, Simmers! The Sims 4 October 2026 update is right around the corner and drops this Thursday, October 22nd! What should players expect? Although the team hasn’t shared many details, information we’ve found on The Sims Discord gives insight into what to expect.
Don’t forget to update and properly prepare your game for the update. If you need assistance, please refer to this article HERE
What’s Brewing in This Update?
This month’s update focuses on food! The team has focused this update on improving the culinary experience for our Sims, from muscle and weight changes to weird autonomy fixes. Let’s dig into what’s in store.
Beyond food and drink improvements, the team is also introducing new controls for muscle and weight changes. Players can now toggle body changes on or off for saves and choose whether to affect single Sims. How exciting! This new feature should make it easier for players to tailor gameplay to various households and playstyles.
The team has also looked at several longstanding issues with food and dining experiences. The team is applying a balancing pass to food prices and calorie values across all packs. This will help create a consistent experience throughout the game. Meanwhile, Dine Out is receiving several bug fixes. However, this doesn’t mean Dine Out is getting a refresh yet. This may not be the refresh players were dreaming of, but the developers are actively playtesting restaurants and making improvements to improve the overall experience.
What’s On The Menu?
Several smaller changes may also be on the menu. The team is rearranging the “Open” interaction in the fridge pie menu to make it easier to access. The team has also been investigating whether Sims can prioritize eating leftovers before preparing a new meal, which helps with wasted food and time management for Sims. Yum, leftovers.
Other topics under investigation include Sims leaving dirty dishes in strange places and the possibility of adding lockable refrigerators. Now, other Sims can’t reach our Sims’ food! Beyond dirty dishes and lockable fridges, the team has also explored new recipes for the Family Recipes feature, giving players more options when creating family traditions. Will Grandmama Sim teach the little ones how to make those secret family-recipe cookies just right?
In addition to October’s food-focused improvements, a few September fixes are still on their way. Expanded Buff View will remain open at higher game speeds, several Build/Buy tagging issues are being addressed, and more sofas are receiving proper comfort values. Players can also look forward to a previously scrapped failed push-up animation, along with new free Base Game Create a Sim and Build/Buy items for children.
As always, the Sims 4 October 2026 update is still in development. Features the team has described as under investigation may not make it into the final release. However, it does offer an early look at what the developers are working on behind the scenes.
