The long-awaited concept of fully customizable apartments and rental properties are now coming to The Sims 4 in the upcoming expansion pack, For Rent!

The World
This new pack takes place in the lush, southeast-Asian inspired world of Tomarang. Your sims are going to be busier than ever!
You’ll be able to build almost any kind of multi-family residence you can imagine! You can build fully custom apartment buildings, duplexes, townhomes – you can even rent out a simple basement studio!
Meet your new best friend – or worst enemy – your landlord!
These “owner” sims will be able to live on the property amongst their tenants, or they can maintain their own separate residence. Property owners have quite the set of challenges to face:
- Approval Ratings from Tenants
- New maintenance: hot water heaters and electrical fuse boxes
- Existing broken objects (appliances, electronics, plumbing, etc)
- Pest Extermination
- Mold!
Property owners can face revolts if they aren’t taking care of the place, but similarly, tenants can also get themselves into trouble!
Some not-so-upstanding tenants may even take up the “snooper” title, and find themselves “snooping” into other units when the residents aren’t home…
Don’t snoop too far, though… there are some horrors waiting to be uncovered! There’s a new suspicious mold that has been growing in the area… who knows who (or what) you might find on the other side of a door!

Aspirations and Activities
There are four new aspirations coming to The Sims 4: For Rent –
- Seeker of Secrets
- Five-Star Property Owner (Your tenants will love you!)
- Fountain of Tomarani Knowledge
- Discerning Dweller (Your landlord will love you!)
There are five new traits to complement those aspirations –
- Nosy
- Generous
- Cringe
- Child of the Village
- Wise (Elders only!)
Want to get social and meet your neighbors? There are a couple of new social events that will be just the thing! Pool parties are always a hit – and what would make that even better? Food! A potluck always brings everyone together!
There’s also the ever-popular Run Away from the Terrifying Mutant Fungus Zombie™ – wait, why are you screaming?! Okay, fine, maybe don’t bring mushrooms to the potluck. (Or do! Everyone loves a surprise.)
Protip: If you feel like you might die and explode into a cloud of spores, maybe you could… not.
The Sims 4: For Rent will available on all supported platforms on December 7th, 2023.
If purchased before January 18th, 2024, you’ll also get access to the Street Eats digital content. This includes the grill cart, street umbrella, and fruit basket.
