How to Open The Cheat Console and Prepare It for Use
The first step to cheating in your save is to know how to open the cheat console. It varies for each device. For PC players, simultaneously press Ctrl+Shift+C. Mac players press Cmd+Shift+C. For console players on both Xbox and PlayStation, press all four shoulder buttons at the same time. If done correctly, this will automatically open a white box in the top-left corner of the screen.
To enable cheats and make the commands work, enter testingcheats on. Alternatively, testingcheats true works as well. Doing so will make it so that any cheat can be used. Most cheats need this activator to work, so don’t forget!
Money Cheats
Now let’s get into the cheats! Money cheats are the most popular, for obvious reasons. When inflation hits even The Sims 4, Sims have to afford to live somehow! There are 6 helpful money cheats that will set a Sim up for life. Entering kaching will add 1,000 simoleons to household funds. Alternatively, rosebud will do the same. The most well-known money cheat is motherlode which adds 50,000 simoleons to the household funds. Spam that a few times and a Sim will be swimming in money.
If you need a specific amount, money [amount] is the best cheat to use! This is one of our favorite money cheats! If you don’t want to spend money on a home, use FreeRealEstate to move into any home lot for free. The FreeRealEstate cheat must be entered while in the world view. It will not work if entered while in live mode. Lastly, if you’re the type to forget to pay the bills, use household.autopay_bills true. It comes in handy if you’re too caught up to pay the bills!
General Cheats
Taking care of Sims can be hard! They constantly need something. There’s always a need that needs to be taken care of. They’re just never content. If you don’t feel like properly taking care of them, don’t worry! With these cheats, your Sim will be completely content.
Are you the type to forget about your Sims’ needs? Don’t worry, you can enter a few cheats and fix your Sim right up. To fill the needs of a single Sim, enter fillmotive motive_[bladder/energy/fun/hunger/hygiene/social]. To fill the needs of all the Sims in a household, enter sims.fill_all_commodities. It’s a very helpful cheat when your Sim can’t get to the bathroom fast enough.
Trying to get to a certain amount of satisfaction points? Use sims.give_satisfaction_points [amount]. It’s so helpful when trying to unlock a certain perk. Want to complete your Sim’s aspiration without doing any work? Try using sims.give_satisfaction_points [amount]. It completes it instantly! Are the buffs getting on your nerves? With sims.remove_all_buffs, your Sim will have none.
If a Sim is stuck, you can reset them by using resetSim [first name] [last name]. As long as you know the Sim’s name, you can reset anyone. Are your Sims feeling a little lonely? Want new friends instantly? Use relationships.create_friends_for_sim. To introduce them to everyone, use relationship.introduce_sim_to_all_others. Want to fully edit your Sim? Enter cas.fulleditmode!
Build Cheats
Without build cheats, we wouldn’t have some absolutely lovely builds! Build cheats make it so much easier to build masterpieces. There are 5 Build cheats that we think most players couldn’t build without.
Everyone knows about bb.moveobjects! It’s the bread and butter of build mode. If you’ve ever wanted more objects, like the ones seen around the worlds of The Sims 4, these two cheats will give you access to the objects: bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects.
There are so many awesome objects locked behind career promotions, but what if players could unlock them to use in their builds? You can with bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement! Lastly, we have bb.enablefreebuild. With this cheat enabled, building can be done on any lot. It’s super helpful if you’re giving the worlds a makeover.
