Players aren’t always being warned when Sims 4 Gallery builds use paid Maker Packs, and EA has now officially verified the problem.
The bug can cause Gallery uploads to appear as though they do not require any Maker Pack content, even when paid Marketplace items are included in the build.
That means a player could download a room or build believing they already own everything it needs, only to discover missing items after placing it in their game.
EA has now marked the issue as Verified on its official Marketplace Bug Reports board.
Sims 4 Gallery builds can use paid Maker Packs without warning
The report focuses on a problem where Sims 4 Gallery builds use paid Maker Packs without clearly telling the player beforehand.
According to the report, a room was uploaded using Base Game content alongside items from Peacemaker’s Spindl Dining Room Maker Pack.
However, when the room appeared on the Gallery, the Maker Pack requirement was not shown correctly.
The uploader reportedly saw no indication that the room used Maker Pack content.
More importantly, other players who did not own the Maker Pack also failed to see a warning before downloading it.
The problem only became obvious after the room was placed.
At that point, The Sims 4 warned that some content was missing or had been replaced.
That means the Gallery may fail to tell players about paid Marketplace requirements until after they have already downloaded and placed a creation.
EA has now Verified the bug
This is no longer just a player report.
EA has marked the issue as Verified, meaning it has been formally recognised through the official Sims 4 bug-reporting system.
EA’s compiled bug tracker also includes the issue under Gallery problems as “Missing maker packs not showing.”
That matters because the bug affects information players would normally rely on before downloading a creation.
However, EA has not yet moved the issue to Under Investigation, Validating Fix or Upcoming Fix.
So, while the problem has been confirmed, there is currently no announced fix date.
Why does it matter if Sims 4 Gallery builds use paid Maker Packs?
The problem is more significant because Maker Packs are not free community downloads.
Maker Packs are paid content sold through The Sims 4 Marketplace.
EA describes Maker Packs as collections made by approved community creators. They can include Create-a-Sim items, Build/Buy objects and other content.
Players purchase them through the Marketplace using Moola, EA’s virtual currency.

Because Maker Packs cost money, players need to know whether a Gallery creation depends on one before downloading it.
If Sims 4 Gallery builds use paid Maker Packs but the Gallery does not show that requirement, players cannot easily tell whether the creation will appear correctly in their game.
That is the main issue behind the newly verified bug.
Players may only find out after placing the build
The frustrating part is when the warning appears.
According to the report, players who did not own the required Maker Pack were not clearly warned while viewing the Gallery upload.
Instead, they found out after placing the room.
At that stage, The Sims 4 informed them that some content was missing and had been replaced.
So the game does eventually recognise that something is missing.
The problem is that the Gallery may fail to show the paid requirement before the player downloads the creation.
For anyone regularly browsing rooms, lots or other shared builds, that makes the Gallery information less reliable.
Paid Maker Packs make accurate Gallery information more important
The Sims 4 has always allowed players to share creations made with different packs.
Normally, the Gallery helps players see which packs are required before downloading something.
Marketplace Maker Packs add another paid content type into that system.
As more creators release content through Marketplace, accurate pack information becomes increasingly important.
A player may own every Expansion Pack or Kit used in a build but still be missing one specific Maker Pack.
If the Gallery fails to display that Maker Pack, there is no obvious way for them to know in advance.
That is why a bug where Sims 4 Gallery builds use paid Maker Packs without warning is particularly noticeable.
The Gallery and Marketplace are meant to work alongside each other
EA has repeatedly described the Gallery and Marketplace as separate features.
The Marketplace is used to discover and purchase content.
The Gallery remains the place where players can share Sims, rooms and lots with the wider community.
However, content purchased through Marketplace can still be used inside Gallery creations.
That means the two systems need to communicate properly.
If someone uploads a room containing a paid Maker Pack item, the Gallery should ideally show that requirement just as it does for other packs.
The current bug appears to break that connection.

This is not the only Gallery filtering problem
EA’s current bug tracker contains several other Gallery-related issues.
These include problems with pack information, filtering and uploaded content.
There have also been long-running complaints about how Gallery filters behave when players try to narrow creations down by owned packs.
However, the Maker Pack issue is different.
This is not simply a confusing filter design.
The report says paid Marketplace content is actually present in the uploaded creation, but the Gallery can fail to show that requirement to the player.
That makes it much more relevant now that Maker Packs are a paid part of The Sims 4 ecosystem.
No fix has been announced yet
For now, EA has Verified the bug affecting Sims 4 Gallery builds that use paid Maker Packs.
However, there is no confirmed fix date.
Players downloading Gallery creations should therefore be aware that the listed pack requirements may not always include every Maker Pack used in the build.
The game may only reveal that content is missing after the creation has been placed.
The good news is that EA has now officially recognised the problem.
The next important step will be whether the bug moves from Verified to Under Investigation or an Upcoming Fix.
