The Sims Team has released an update for July’s patch, highlighting stability improvements, autosave refinements, and several long-requested fixes. These fixes spread across the Marketplace, Base Game, and For Rent gameplay. This update addresses several issues reported by players, aiming to improve reliability and quality of life for Simmers on all platforms.
Major Crash Fixes
One of the most significant changes in this patch is the addition of Save Reminders introduced in July’s patch update. Apparently, there were issues where the Save Reminders defaulted to off, as well as games crashing immediately after they saved. The crashes after the save were reportedly more frequent on console games than on PC.
Here is a full list of the major updates;
- Resolved a major console/travel crash that occurred immediately after loading saves (large saves may still load slightly slower).
- Save Reminders now default to Every 2 Hours instead of Off, and we improved the visual feedback for active autosaves.
- Fixed a critical bug where loading an autosave and saving manually could overwrite the wrong slot. Autosave and reminder timers will no longer reset when traveling.
- Fixed misaligned tabs in the Discover menu and fixed the “Something Went Wrong” error that occurred when transitioning from the Gallery.
- Restored working countdown timers for school/careers and fixed missing lot taxes on Residential Rental bills.

Other Updates
Also in this patch, there are some other updates including Marketplace updates, Basegame, and For Rent updates. These updates include fixing text issues for PlayStation Simmers, misalignment and empty sections, and the “Something Went Wrong” error in the Marketplace. Basegame-wise, the countdown timer for careers, school, and after-school activities is no longer stuck, crashes related to caching have been updated, and thumbnail rebuilding has been done to resolve the roof edge issues. The For Rent Expansion Pack also received an update where lot taxes are now included for Residential Rentals on bills.
