Sims Have No Common Sense, and Winter Pools Prove It

Sims 4 Winter Swim

Is it normal for your Sims to plunge themselves into an icy pool in the midst of Winter? Technically, no. But in The Sims 4, Sims love doing exactly what they shouldn’t. So, if you care about your Sims’ safety, we suggest building a fence around your pools. Better safe than sorry!

Accomplished-Low9635 asked the question over on r/LowSodiumSimmers, confused by why their Sims kept trying to kill themselves in the pool each Winter. It’s surely not on purpose, right? Everyone knows Sims aren’t exactly the smartest.  They just can’t help themselves. They see a beautiful blue pool and don’t hesitate. Stripping down to their bathing suits and diving is the only thing on their minds. Don’t mind that it’s -3 degrees outside; it adds to the thrill.

Though we really do suggest building a fence around your Sims’ pools, otherwise, they will swim, and they will die. Sims have no common sense and will do whatever their pixelated hearts desire. No matter the cost. Silly Sims! But seriously, each and every winter, build a fence around your Sims’ pools. Add a gate if you’d like, but make sure it is locked. Otherwise, you’ll lose your Sim to the icy depths of a backyard pool.

If you don’t like the look of a fenced-in pool, we understand. It can ruin the aesthetics of your backyard. If preferred, using the Geothermal Trait from the Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack will keep your pool warm year-round, keeping your Sim safe from a frosty, watery grave! But if you do not own the Eco Lifestyle pack and do not want to buy it for a single feature, fencing it in is your best bet. Or if your Sims are fancy, have an inside swimming pool! Your Sims will thank you! Dag Dag!
