Who Is Edith in The Sims 4? The Story Behind Ravenwood’s Terrifying Child Ghost

Edith the Sims 4

Who is Edith, the scary child poltergeist who scares our Sims? Not everyone knows of her, so we’re here to explain who she is and why she scares our Sims!

The Story of Edith

Edith Basu is a pre-made Sim that comes with The Sims 4: Life & Death. She’s a child terror, angry with the world…and our Sims. Edith haunts the well by the Old Ravenwood Estate. If you’ve made the mistake of approaching her, you know she’ll make your Sim’s bladder decrease and give your Sim a scared moodlet. She’s quite terrifying.

Edith was a mischievous child with quite the mean streak. Her aspiration is to be a Rambunctious Scamp. She’s one of those kids you tend to avoid on the playground for fear that she’ll get you. Young Edith wasn’t always angry, though. Her death is actually the reason she’s so foul. What happened to Edith to make her so miserable?

Well, poor Edith met a sad end after drowning in the Well of Longing and Regret some time after the death of her mother, Alice. She was overwhelmed with grief and anger, which led to her anger festering until she became the poltergeist we know today. Though underneath her angry shell is a mischievous little girl who just wants a friend.

How To Befriend Edith

Your Sim can choose to run screaming from her or try to look deeper and attempt to befriend her. If you want to befriend her, be warned. It will be tricky. It’s most important to remember that no matter how scary, do not run!

Being kind and patient with her will win you the reward of her friendship. Use friendly dialogue to slowly earn her trust. And if she becomes hostile, back out of the conversation and try again later. Repeating positive interactions with Edith will eventually win her over.

Once you’ve won her friendship, you can ask her for her “mark”. Receiving her mark will improve your chances of success on your next wish at the Well of Longing and Regret.
