With the exciting release of Adventure Awaits, players are eager to explore all the fun it brings, especially with the addition of imaginary friends! This charming concept made its debut in The Sims franchise with the Generations expansion pack for The Sims 3. While the imaginary friends from The Sims 3 had a slightly creepy vibe, they definitely added a whimsical touch to childhood gameplay.
Imaginary Friends Battle Arena
Over on r/Sims4, a user named Remarkable_Yak_258 came up with a fantastic idea to make the most of your Sim’s imaginary friends. The challenge is straightforward and a lot of fun! You create a household with four child Sims, each with their own imaginary friend. The goal? See who can bring their imaginary friend to life first! What Are Imaginary Friends?
With the new release of this feature, I’m sure many players have questions and are curious about what these friends are. To understand their origins, let’s rewind to The Sims 3. Back in that iteration, they begin as rather unsettling dolls that are gifted to a baby or toddler Sim by a ‘distant relative’. How cryptic! If played with frequently, the doll would transform into a human-sized rag doll!
Moving on to The Sims 4, the imaginary friend comes in four different models, each with its own unique personality. When the child Sim reaches level three of their creativity skill and has created a bond with their doll, they can choose to make their doll into an imaginary friend.
By default, the doll will have certain personalities, which are listed below.
- Lil Monster-Goofball
- Pretty Pegacorn-Evil
- Krafty Kid-Creative
- Wild Child-Competitive

Well, how can we make them real? You may be wondering if you are familiar with the function in The Sims 3. If your child has an imaginary friend and then grows into a teenager, they can turn their imaginary friend into a real one. With this new feature, you can have your own Pinocchio story. “I’m a real boy!”
