TSR Creator’s Corner

We are excited to finally announce our new submissions system for The Sims 4 content, the Creator’s Corner!

The Creator’s Corner only handles content for The Sims 4. Submissions for The Sims 3 will still have to continue through the older submissions system.

Our new system has been completely redesigned from the ground up to be faster, easier, and a better experience overall.

While the Creator’s Corner has been made to be simple and straight-forward for anyone to jump in and use, we also have a collection of documentation for how to use this new system.

User Guides:

For creators who are uploading to The Sims Resource for the first time, there’s also a list of content requirements which we suggest you review before submitting.

TSR individually reviews all content that is submitted. This ensures that the content is correctly made, complete, fully functioning, and follows the content guidelines above.

Sets & Multiple Files

One of the first changes we focused on was making it easier to upload multiple files into a single submission. The Creator’s Corner no longer requires any specific method or format for uploading a set of multiple files. For both .package files and images, you can now:

  • Drag-and-drop
  • Use the file browser to select multiple files at once
  • Put everything into a zip (With no specific formatting required anymore!)

To support this change, we no longer require a separate full submission form and separate images for each item within a set. You can simply create one submission for the entire set! For large sets, this makes the upload process significantly faster.

Automatic Data Extraction

Our Creator’s Corner can now also automatically pull information out of your files. For example, it can automatically (and optionally) extract the title and description out of a package file to use as the title and description on site. The system can also detect things like expansion pack requirements, swatches, and polygon counts!

Categories and Tags

With a new search engine that is coming soon, the categories you can place your content into have been expanded. The categories are no longer designed to match the in-game categories, but instead have been designed so that you can specify exactly what your content is.

A brand-new tagging system will let you list exact details about your creation. You can now tag your submissions based on things like color, size, material, style, intended use, etc. Have you created a long-sleeve, white, wool, polka-dotted overcoat? You’ll be able to tag your creation with all of those details. Each of those tags will eventually be searchable, so users will be able to find exactly the content they are looking for!

Please be aware that the Creator’s Corner will have ongoing maintenance for bug fixes, new features, and various changes as it comes up to speed with the rest of the site.

If you have older TS4 content already published, it may not be visible in the new system right away. We have nearly a decade’s worth of CC for The Sims 4, and it will take some time for the new system to fully sync up with all of that content.
