The latest Sims 4 patch added Playgrounds to the Base Game. But players aren’t happy about it, and here’s why!
Two Items. Seriously?
If you’re playing without The Adventure Awaits DLC, your playground consists of… 2 items!
Yes, you’re reading that right: monkey bars and pirate/space ship play structures. That’s it.
Naturally, players are confused and annoyed.
On Reddit, user AmalatheaClassic calculated how absurd this is in practice. A standard 30×20 lot has 600 tiles per level. If you build with just 3 monkey bars and 3 ships, this is what you’re getting:
The true cherry on top of the cake is if you were to make a 6 ship playground it is literally the entire length of the lot at 264 tiles.

A Playground Lot With No Playground Content?
The community isn’t mad there’s a new lot type, but by EA marketing as Playgrounds being part of the Base Game when in reality, this is a bait move, as you only have access to 2 items and must buy The Adventure Awaits Expansion for more.
At this point, some may consider Playgrounds not an update to the Base Game, but a paid expansion teaser with a free placeholder.
