Swords at the ready! The wait is over, we can now create our dynasties and take the throne! Earlier today the Sims 4: Royalty and Legacy Expansion Pack was released. Of course, before we go into all the gameplay elements of this Expansion, we are going to take a look at all the CAS, Create a Sim. This pack comes with 219 CAS items, so let’s get a move on and check out some of the new content!
What is The Royalty and Legacy Expansion Pack
The Sims 4 Royalty and Legacy Expansion Pack came out on February 12, 2026. This highly anticipated expansion pack focuses on creating and maintaining your own royal dynasties. Of course, for Create a Sim or CAS, this means loads of accessories, crowns, and fancy clothing. The Expansion Pack is full of vibrant, diverse content that was, in my opnion much needed in our games. Royalty and Legacy features bright and colorful patterns with hues and styles for many different royal occasions.
Note from Jezi: I do have CC on the Sims in the images; I need my presets, skin details, beards, and makeup. There was not much of any makeup in this expansion pack, so I will note that when it is showcased.
Accessories

Being that this pack is all about Royalty, palace life, and regal elegance, we are starting with accessories first.
ALL About The Crowns and Head Accessories

I am very pleasantly surprised by the amount of formal head accessories in this pack. There are a lot of crowns, but the pack also has a good number of fancy hats and formal headwear for your Sims. There is a wide variety in styles, so you can load up on looks for your royal Sims.

For the most part, the crowns lay fairly well on the hairstyles included in the Royalty and Legacy Expansion Pack. Some hairstyles do stick out around or through the crowns, so I would pick the crown first and then select the hairstyle. I had no problem finding loads of combinations with the feminine styles. I also had a lot of fun setting up these images.
Masks and a Pair of Shades

For the most part, this Expansion pack feels to focus more on a more modern royal take of a Dynasty rather than a medieval one. However, masquerade balls are still very much a part of modern royal life. Several new masks are perfect for a masquerade ball, and there is also a nice pair of shades, in case you need to try to conceal your royal Sims’ identities.
Jewlery

Ah, yes, the crown jewels, definitely a must-have for a pack about royalty. I will say I am very pleased with the variety in necklaces. I also really do love the different patterns and colors on the circular earrings. Since this is a pack for Royalty, I would have liked to see more jewelry. But in all honesty, EA could have had over 100 pieces of jewelery and I would still take more.
Hairstyles

I am very pleased with the variety and quantity of the feminine hairstyles. They are all very unique, elegant, and a variety of styles we did not yet have. I enjoy the focus on the updos, so I selected them to highlight. A lot of the hairstyles have added accessories built into the hair that add a regal glam to the finished look.

I only counted 4 masculine hairstyles; they are all different, but just 4? And two of them I had a heck of a time finding the right crown. I don’t like any hair sticking through accessories, and I just could not get the right combo tonight.
Clothing

Pictured above is the new makeup from the Expansion Pack
So I have said this only a few times…. I will be, not might, using some of the clothing from the Royalty and Legacy Expansion Pack. I truly appreciate the fine details, patterns, variety, and overall regal elegance featured in this pack.
Masculine Clothing Styles

I may not be too fond of the masculine hairstyles, but the clothing options… absolutely yes! What is crazy is that this is like a third of the clothes, and they all have loads of swatches, giving you at least 10x more the amount of options. There is quite a range of hues, from bright colors and patterns to pastels and classic basic tones. We definitely needed more formal attire for masculine fahsion and we got it today!
Feminine Clothing Styles

If you thought we got a lot of masculine clothing… this is not even a third of the options here. I tried to give a variety in the review so you can see the pattern, vibrant colors, and options of styles. Really, your royal Sims have a wardrobe for any occasion they are attending. I also like that there are clearly styled pieces per neighborhood theme, so you can preserve that areas asthetic.

Children, Toddlers, and Infants

There are some items for Children and Toddler Sims, but I did not see anything when I was looking for Infant Sims. The toddler dress is super cute, and the outfits fit the theme of the pack; there is just no wow factor here. The hairstyles are pretty much the same as the adults’ as well. Again, like the jewelry and masculine hairstyles, I think this is a missed opportunity for an area that really needs more content.
Final Thoughts
I have high expectations for the Royalty and Legacy Expansion Pack, and I am super excited to take a look at the Build/Buy items and Gameplay tomorrow. There are a lot of items and themes I am already enjoying, like the teen through elder clothing and the feminine hairstyles. If I had to pick one outfit as my favorite, it would be the one in the photo below. This outfit is modern but also has some armor, giving me a mystical fantasy or villain vibe.

It took me a bit longer to review the CAS items than anticipated, which is really that is a win for everyone. 219 CAS items sound like a lot. Ok, I googled it, Lovestruck had around 200, Business and Hobbies around 160, Enchanted by Nature around 180, and Life and Death around 150. So yes, that is a considerable amount. Overall, I am happy with the Pack so far, aside from three improvements that I already mentioned I would have liked to see.
