The Sims 4 Photo Bug Is Back Despite EA’s Latest Fix

A wall of black photos caused by a Sims 4 bug

We Thought We Were Done With Black Photos

The bug that has plagued us all. Photos turning black! It’s back, or at least, it’s never left. Electronic Arts rolled out a patch only a couple of days ago that was supposed to fix these pesky photo bugs. But players are unfortunately still having their pictures ruined.

One Reddit user, lixfeot8, posted to r/thesims an absolutely heartbreaking screenshot for those who love taking pictures of their Sims. When will this bug cease to ruin our photos?

Well, my photos have now offically all turned black now 😁

Absolutely devastating. As a gameplay-oriented simmer, we know just how painful it is to load into your home and see Sim years’ worth of photos pitch black! Hopefully, for those who still face these issues, EA will listen and once again attempt to fix this issue.

Many others face this same issue still. It seems as if even though the game updated, saves are in a way ‘corrupted’. Not in the sense that your save is in danger, but due to a glitch or bug that continues to cause issues within that save. Not the same corruption as the For Rent bugs, so don’t be alarmed!

So What Do We Do Then?

A fresh save is a promising possibility! Save all of your important Sims and builds to your gallery and load into a fresh save. Place all of it down like you had it prior in your old save and see if the problem has been resolved. It’s horrible that players have to toss away saves that they have been working on for months or even years, but sometimes a fresh start is a good way to keep your Sims safe from being plagued by bugs.

If that still does not work, then the best thing to do is to make sure to report it to EA! They do see the reports we put in, and the Sims Team works hard to fix them, as well as they can. It doesn’t fix the issue, but it does help in the long run.
