The Sims 4 is here with a new expansion! The Sims 4 expansion pack Adventure Awaits is here, and we are taking a look at all the latest and exciting features that this expansion has to offer. About Adventure Awaits
The thing that stands out the most about Adventure Awaits is the element of wonder that they manage to pull off in every aspect of the expansion. The Sims 4 base game already does a lot to highlight the daily grind of life and getting your Sims through their daily routines. Adventure Awaits gives you more reasons to push your Sims to seek out other places and have your Sims try new things. This makes things feel a little less predictable and scripted while allowing every playthrough to go in a different direction.
Adventure Awaits will have you discover new secrets, visit new locations, and interact with townies with all different types of personalities and secrets to be revealed. If you are one of those players who like extra detail, there is a lot of content for you. If you like to just cruise through the game and see what happens, that is also present here. Adventure Awaits hits a great balance with all the little things. The entire expansion pack never feels like too much. Adventure Awaits is a pack that almost forces you to slow down, take your time, and see where your Sims end up.
How Much is in Adventure Awaits
The Debug Items in the Sims 4 Adventures Await Expansion Pack
As you can see here, there are a lot of items for Adventure Awaits Build & Buy, 191 according to Google. The general range for Build & Buy items per expansion pack appears to be approximately 150 to 300 items. The largest is Get Together, with 326 B/B items, and the smallest is Seasons, with 158 B/B Items. For a full comparison of recent expansions via Google, Enchanted by Nature had 163 B/B items, Businesses and Hobbies 212, Life and Death 148, and Lovestruck 188. So, from this information, we can expect a decent, but normally expected, amount of Adventure Awaits Build & Buy Items.
Build Items
Wall Coverings & Floors
I do not normally use a lot of non CC content, but I really like that horizontal wood wall with the vertical piping. For the pack, I feel that this is a fair amount of wall coverings, and they all make sense. The wood floors also make sense, but do not completely match all the wall coverings.
Doors & Windows
We got a lot more doors than I would have expected in this pack. And there is quite a range from rustic cabin or camp to modern, which I like to see, as I really love modern cabins.
I am also quite pleased with the window and love how there are tent-like windows, rustic cabin windows, and a couple of modern-looking ones. Another area with a good variety.
Water Features
YEAHHH, we have diving boards! And just look at those cute topiary plants!
Buy Items
From furniture, new smoother makers, and campground decor, this Expansion Pack has it all. Giving the Simmer the ability to create their own rustic getaway.
Furniture
The Furniture included Adventure Awaits, Build & Buy items are themed around a camp or lodge theme overall. There are a lot of items you would find at a campground. So we expected the bunkbeds, rustic furniture, and overall campground vibes in this pack.
The Pack definitely delivers on the immersion, as the aesthetic of the pack and the entire world of Gibbi Point is consistent.
Just like the CAS, it is not quite my aesthetic, but it does offer Simmers different options to create with. I imagine this pack, the Horse Ranch, Cottage Living, and Strangerville items pairing quite nicely with each other.
Appliances
New Smoothie maker, mini fridge, and tea kettle are here, and they may be small in size, but they pack a punch… ok, maybe bad pun. But in all seriousness, those smoothies are useful!
Activities & Skill Items
There are several new activities in the Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack. Sims can now practice archery, kayaking, spinning, entomology (Butterflies), diving, smoothie making, and papercraft.
This pack is all about adventure and activity, so there are a lot of activity and skill-based items. With plenty of playground items to keep even the little ones engaged in adventure.
With the playground equipment, there are now modular pieces so that you can build your own custom playground. There are some premade sets, but you can customize those and piece them together and add on to them.
One of the most exciting pieces in this pack is the sunken hot tub! It seats eight Sims and can go right into the floor or ground!
Final Thoughts
The Adventure Awaits: Build & Buy items have a lot of usability in builds. The diving boards, hot tub, and slide are alone a win in my book. The Playground is definitely a big bonus, as well as a lot of the wall textures, wooden fences, and building materials. This pack offers sufficient variety to create cabins, tents, and cottages that look either rustic or modern, with numerous mixing and matching opportunities.
I am super excited to see what builders and room decorators come up with using this pack. I think pairing the pool items in this pack with the Riveria Retreat Kit would make some amazing pool builds.
