The new Lovestruck Expansion Pack is out! So we are going to take a look at all the new Create A Sim, build, and buy items. Yesterday I streamed this pack for about three hours and we took a quick look at the things that come in this pack and let me tell you it is A LOT!
From my perspective, it appears as if there are three themes; dating, the world, and Wahoo time. There are elements for each of these themes in most areas of this pack, which gives it a lot of variety. I can see a lot of Simmers really enjoying this pack as there is a lot to offer!
Create a Sim
Before we start with Create a Sim or CAS, understand I am a Simmer who almost only plays with CAS CC. So I am very picky about what I use from packs and base games. I will say this is one of the fuller expansion packs, but I am a bit underwhelmed by the content designs in the CAS area.
Clothing
I expected the clothing to have a bit of glitz and glam with the theme of Romance. Sure some outfits are a bit more revealing and there are plenty of new costumes, but a lot of the other elements were very underwhelming. I found about six items I would use in Create a Sim. The sparkly-heeled Maryjane shoes I absolutely love and those are my fave pick for the Create A Sim items… closely followed by the sexy fireman costume.
Costumes
Costumes have become a bit more useful with the Lovestruck Expansion Pack, bringing them to your Sims’ bedrooms. So it is to be expected to see more of these included in CAS. I must say I am a fan of the taco apron and… of course the fireman.
Masculine
The masculine styles to me were ok. There is nothing extraordinary that stands out, nothing is bad or off for the packs’ themes, just very plain or very bedroom. Which I guess makes sense for the pack. There are some nice classics like the open-front shirt and new pairs of jeans.
Feminine
The feminine styles of clothing I am also somewhat underwhelmed. I do like that green dress with the sheer cardigan, the black mini dress, and the peach dress. Aside from that there are a lot of basic classics that show a bit more skin that Simmers can find useful for their Sims.
Accessories
For a pack, there are a variety of accessories. From rings, nails, shoes, hats, necklaces, eyelashes, and earrings it is all in the pack. There is a good variety, but again nothing that really stood out in the wow factor.
Hair
There are several new hairs in this pack and the majority of them have other designs or color variations. I really like the multi-colored hairstyles and really like how in one style the top was one color and the shaved down sides were another color.
Kids
Of course, for children’s CC we did not expect much. However, some of the hairstyles are converted to Child Sims.
Build
So the Build items in this pack are REALLY nice. I absolutely love the windows. And I tested out the window cages… you can put decorations… like PLANTS on them! So that is another reason I adore them. There is also a really gorgeous aquamarine color that is found in the fences, doors, and windows which is just perfect. I can honestly say I am really impressed with the quality and amount of Build items in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack!
Walls & floors
There are of course more walls than this and there is quite a variety in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack. I will say the highlight for me for walls is that rainbow tile wall. I am totally using it around a pool. It is absolutely gorgeous!
Windows
Is it me or are there A LOT of windows in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack? like WOW! Loads of windows with lots of swatches! I like the matching sets that have different sizes and features, as I like my windows to match as much as possible in my lots.
Window Cages
These window cages are another highlight of the pack and you can put small plants on them! These window cages also match the new fencing so perfect for those of us who like our building elements to match!
These window boxes also have TONS of shades and they are all very lovely!
Doors
I am very pleased with the doors in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack. In particular, I really like the aquamarine and wood door, the arched door, and the double door. I find all of these very aesthetically appealing and I would use them in my game.
Other Build Elements
There are of course columns, fences, pool tiles, a lovely tree, stairs, and more in this pack! There are so many options for the build items in Lovestruck that I cannot wait to see what Simmers do with this! I personally will probably be making a house with all the aquamarine building elements I just love that shade!
Buy
There is a TON of buy items in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack! I was trying to count… but I quickly got distracted by how much is here! There is so much!!
The Heart Beds
Of course, we have to start with the iconic and nostalgic heart-shaped bed. Yes, there are quite a few swatches for this bed! A LOT and I am loving the animal print ones!
Seating
There is a lot of variety in the seating, we have a new ottoman, love seats, stools, a lounger, and then all sorts of chairs. The colors in these swatches range from natural colors to bright vivid shades and it works so well!
Surfaces
Of course, there are some new surfaces in the Lovestruck expansion. The picnic table is super cute but I really like the purple marble end table. It looks very unique and that is a lovely shade to bring color into a room.
Decor
Of course, there are plants and of course, I am going to say I like them all! HAHAHA! I will say that the one in the center behind the fountain is probably my favorite plant and then the adorable axolotl statue. But you can see there are some candles, food, statues, plants, and other items perfect for decorating.
Wall Art
The wall art seems to have three themes, Ciudad Enamorada, advertisements, or spice and love. I think it fits well and I love the glowing piece of artwork, I think it is Medusa or maybe just a person with a snake. The colors look amazing and it has a nice neon effect, so I like it.
Lights & Ceiling Decor
For lights and ceiling decor, I really like the big modern-looking lamp. It produces a good amount of light and I like the modern design. The neons and starlights are also pretty cool. The star lights give me nostalgic vibes of college years with the moon and star glow-in-the-dark stickers. I will say my favorite item in the pack is in this image… can you guess which one? If you guessed the hanging plant box you would be correct! Absolutely love it!
Debug
Monimay had the great suggestion of looking at the debug items and it was fabulous! There is so much and builders are going to have a lot of fun with these items. Lots of fencing, walls, dividers, artwork, and PLANTS! So many plants! Definitely well worth checking out if you are a builder or decorator!
Plants
I love these plants and I am totally going to be using debug more! It just gives so many more options!
Gifts?
The heart plushie in the middle is one of the extra items you get if you purchase Lovestruck before September 5th. And the other items I am guessing are from the flower shop? or gifts and then a Romance skill book.
Axolotls
Yes you can find axolotls in Ciudad Enamorada! And there are loads of these little cuties! Well… we know what Jezi will be doing… collecting Axolotls!
Art
The art in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack fits Ciudad Enamorada so well. I love how it feels very authentic and rich in culture. There are so many gorgeous art pieces and sculptures this is going to be a lovely pack for photos!
Summary
Normally I am all for seeing what Create A Sim has to offer, but this pack is different for me. I would have to say I like the build-and-buy items much more. Does this mean I am converting to a builder? Probably not, sometimes it is just nice to appreciate something new! Overall there are A LOT of options in the Lovestruck Expansion Pack and I know Simmers are going to enjoy it!
