The Complete Sims 4 Skill Cheats List: Every Skill & Pack

Skills are essential in The Sims games. Over a Sim’s life, they build skills to become better, faster, or able to do things other Sims can’t.  Last week we released a blog from BerrySimmer highlighting cheats that help your Sims cheat promotions, graduations, and skill building. This week, we are taking skills further by providing a complete list of Sims 4 skill cheats: that’s right, every skill in The Sims 4, its cheat, and the pack it comes with.

What Are Skills In The Sims 4

Skills in The Sims 4 are similar to real-life skills: learnable and improvable hobbies, abilities, and things Sims can do. Some examples of these skills in The Sims 4 are: painting, tattooing, dancing, singing, skiing, fitness, and pottery. Younger Sims also learn general skills like creativity and social, which help develop skills from Teen through Elder Sims. Skills also relate closely to Sims’ aspirations, which steer their life goals and overall aspirations.

You learn skills through study, practice, or repetition.  Most skills have books and college courses Sims can use to study, and sometimes even the computer.  You don’t get to level 10 Wellness on day one… well, unless you cheat; then, well, it is instant.

How to Cheat Skills In The Sims 4

To cheat skills in The Sims 4, first turn cheating on. You do this by bringing up a text box in the following ways:
PC players: press Ctrl+Shift+C.
Mac players: press Cmd+Shift+C.
For console players on Xbox and PlayStation, press all four shoulder buttons at the same time.
Once the text box is open, you ou then enter testingcheats on in the text console. Now you may cheat.

Using The Skills Cheats

To use the cheats, you must enter them exactly correctly. For guides, copy only the bolded text, leaving out punctuation, since it isn’t bolded (.,;:), unless it is bolded within the code.  For example: stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma #. You would copy only the bolded text: stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma # leaving anything after the # out.

Now let’s talk about #s. This shows a number range. In this guide, the paragraph before the skill tells you the number range; then just change the # (keeping the 1-space separation exactly as in the code) to your desired skill level. Like so: stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking # will turn into stats.set_skill_level Major_HomestyleCooking 10, maxing out that selected Sim’s general cooking ability.

The Skills List

Here’s how it works: each skill in The Sims 4 is generally major or minor. Major skills can reach level 10, while minor skills reach level 5. Below is a list of every skill a Sim can have (aside from occult), marked as major or minor, with the cheat code needed to level it and the pack it comes from.

Major Skills

Major skills also go up to level 10. So, if you want to cheat, just use the cheat code stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma # and put a number 1 through 10 in place of the #.  So if you want to max out charisma, use stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma 10. However, if you only want a small boost to Charisma stats.set_skill_level Major_Charisma 3.

Minor Skills

Minor Skills in The Sims 4 only go to level 5, so to max them out, replace the # with a 5, like: stats.set_skill_level Minor_Dancing 5.

Toddler Skills

Toddler Skills in The Sims 4 only go to level 5, except for the ‘Potty’ Skill, so to max them out, replace the # with a 5, like: stats.set_skill_level toddler_communication 5.

Child Skills

Child Skills in The Sims 4 only go to level 5, so to max them out, replace the # with a 5, like: stats.set_skill_level skill_child_social 5. Each skill in the child gives you a bonus to skills in adulthood, but we’ll cover that in an additional blog.

Oddities

This section is for skills that don’t quite fit the normal range. For example, as of now, Vampire Lore is the only skill that goes to level 15, which is completely outside the standard range for both minor and major skills. It works the same as before: copy the code in the text box in your game, then copy the stats.set_skill_level VampireLore 15, if you want to max out this skill for your Sims. If you don’t want to max it out and just want to boost it, swap the # or the number 15 for your desired level.

Summary

 I realized it had been quite some time since I made a listing of Sims 4 skills while a group of my friends and I were playing Sims and sharing on Discord. I couldn’t remember the exact skill cheat code for one of my friends, so I looked at my old master cheat list and realized it was horribly outdated. So now that you know what skills Sims have available, you can help your Sims follow their aspirations one skill at a time.
