Greetings Simmers! Welcome to another TSR Newsletter! With everything going on last month, we missed the August newsletter, so this one will be a bit of August and September! Get ready, as we had loads of Collections and Bundles, and there was some BIG news for The Sims Franchise!
TSR News
We released and featured a lot of CC in August, so let’s check out some of these highlights! From Collections to Collaborations and Bundles, loads of CC were released here at TSR! So, let’s get to the CC in this TSR Newsletter!
Cozy Studies Collection
Our primary collection for August was the Cozy Studies Collection, which features CC and is perfect for your classic academic aesthetic. This Collection has been super popular due to its trending aesthetic and incredible CC. It includes everything from libraries and coffee shops to glasses and sweaters. You can check this Collection out HERE.
Back to School Collection
We celebrated Back-to-School with a dedicated collection! These items include all the latest trends for your back-to-school Looks. What else is better than going Back to School and having your Sims ready, too? You can find this Collection HERE.
Honey Bxby Collection
We teamed up with the R&B Princess, singer, songwriter, and fashionista Honey Bxby to create an exclusive collection for Simmers. This collection is filled with over CC and inspired by Honey’s unique and bold styles. You can download the CC HERE.
Bundles
Since you all seem to love our Sims 4 Bundles, we released a lot more in August and September: the TSR Anniversary Bundle, the Olympics 2024 Bundle, the Regency Era Bundle, Denim Dayz, Arts and Crafts, and the Pretty in Pink Bundle. Of course, there are still more to come, and we will keep setting up Bundles for all your Simming needs!
Community News
With the recent release of a new Expansion Pack for The Sims 4, I was interested in how the community played the Sims 4. It seemed last month was all about romance and Lovestruck, so what about this month? Are we still following this trend? We are noticing a significant increase in Simmers playing with more realistic mods in their gameplay.
Gameplay Trends
For Gameplay trends, it still seems Lovestruck is relevant, as many Simmers use the new content in Romantic Drama Stories and challenges. Of course, the more complex romance system adds more to their gameplay. Regarding challenges, I see the 100 Baby Challenge and Black Widow Challenges as the most talked about on my social feeds. I am also starting to see more dating show-inspired challenges and gameplay, and I am here for this drama!
Create A Sim (CAS) Trends
For Create a Sim, CAS trends, I see loads of CAS CC Shopping Haul Youtube Videos and Sim Evolution Shorts. Another trend I see pop up on my social feeds is the creation of Sims 4 inspired by characters. One of the common themes of this trend I am seeing is; characters inspired by the movie Inside Out, Scooby Doo, and Beetlejuice.
Build/Buy Trends
From what we see in our social feeds, fantasy builds are trending. Specifically, cozy green, almost Hobbit-inspired builds. In addition to these cozy fantasy builds, smaller cottages and ranch-style homes are highlighted on socials rather than large mansions.
August & Sept Trending TSR Downloads
With the Cozy Studies Collection in mid-August, it is no wonder that many trending downloads are from it. This collection offers many high-quality and unique items that fit this aesthetic, and our community is really enjoying them! Of course, there was loads more CC for The Sims 4, so let’s check it out!
1 – Suzue Lip Preset N13
2 – LVNDRCC – Paisley – Shoes
3 – Beto – Osky Dress
4 – Moniamay72 – Lovestruck Penthouse
5 – Severinka Anges REad Corner
The Sims News
There has been loads of Sims news this September. In addition to the updates, a playtesting program called The Sims Labs has been released, and new merchandise has been released, which you can find HERE. So, let’s break all this down in this TSR Newsletter!
New Kits
Two new kits were released in September: the Storybook Nursery Kit and the Artists Studio Kit. You can read my review of the latest kits and see photos of the new items HERE.
New Expansion
We recently got an official road map teaser that a new Expansion Pack is coming on October 31st. The title of the road map is ‘Season of To Be Continued,’ and the video has a tarot and storybook feel to it. This expansion is titled Life and Death. We have not seen much else than the tarot card-themed teaser. Each element of the roadmap has a different card assigned to it, and the Expansion Pack has what appears to be the death card, which fits the title. The first look at this expansion is scheduled for October 3rd, so we will know more very soon! You can find the official announcement HERE.
Reapers Rewards
To hype up the upcoming expansion, The Sims has an in-game event called Reaper’s Rewards. This limited-time event has a few in-game rewards, including a new lot challenge called Scare Seeker. Each week, you can collect tasks and rewards. You can find the official event information HERE.
Project Rene & the Future of Sims
Simmers have been talking about The Sims 5, Project Rene, and the future of Sims. EA recently released an official article on the subject HERE, and Queenie has also gone over the details in this blog HERE. In a brief summary of the two articles, there are a lot of changes, and it appears that Project Rene will be in playtesting Fall 2024. So we are looking at more ways to play the Sims, some form of multiplayer, Player Testing, and Creator Kits.
My Sims
My Sims: Cozy Bundle, a nostalgic game, will be re-released on Nintendo Switch on November 19. The My Sims: Cozy Bundle includes a remake of the iconic games My Sims and My Sims Kingdom. Check out the Nintendo Shop page or trailer HERE for more information.
Coming Soon to TSR
As always, we won’t tell you all the details, but some exciting things are coming in October! We’ll have more Collections, Bundles, CC, Blogs, and Videos! Until then, Happy Downloading!
