Welcome back to The Sims Resource and the Pet CC Showcase! Today we’re exploring the wide and wonderful world of custom content and mods for your Sims’ pets. Let’s get into it!

CAS Content

Big Pups

I wanted to start this blog off with bigger pups! I love a big dog (and own a big dog), so I figured it was fitting to start off with them. These first looks are ‘accessories’ for the larger pups in your Sim families, things that I would consider more acceptable for a walk or time outside than some of the other things I’ll show off later on. I love bandanas on big dogs in particular because I think they always look like big friendly ambassadors of the community in them! That’s why I chose two different versions to showcase.  The little holiday antlers are adorable as well–they make me think of Sam the dog from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

I’m not someone who usually thinks about putting shirts on my dog (she is not a fan of shirts), but putting them on my Sim pets is a way more fun alternative (and avoids squirmy puppies!). The Haustlauf outfit is perfect if you want to use your Sims’ pets in a fantasy playthrough, and they totally transform your dog into a fantasy companion! Finally, I have some extra long ears if you want a cute dog whose ears hang low (and wobble to and fro) in your game.

Mini Pups

I love little pups as much as I love big ones, and I’m really happy to show off some custom content for them as well! The bow tie is a totally classic pet accessory (pro tip: if you want to try one on your pet in real life, get one that slides on and off their collar so you can give them a break if they don’t like it!). The halo and wings can be used to show off what a little angel your pet is, or to help set a science fiction setting in your game.

Look at all these precious sweaters! Sim dogs always look adorable in their little outfits, and these are just the proof! I love the cable knit hoodie which makes the dog look so put together and posh, as well as the holiday pajamas. Some of the holiday pajamas even match Sim family outfits for perfectly family photos! Highly recommend.

Cats

I love all these accessories for cats! The Luna marking takes me right back to Sailor Moon, and I want to put it on all of my Sims cats (even in my most realistic playthroughs). The gold necklace is a touch of class in case your Sims are especially fancy, or the wings from the CyFi collab can create a science-fiction future where cats can fly! There are also some simple collars if you just want to jush up your base game playthroughs with some slightly fancier collar options as well.

I’m definitely not a proponent of putting clothes on my cats in real life (they would never let me, and I’m a fan of my fingers), but dressing them up in The Sims is a fun and harmless way to get the same result! There are tons of cat outfits out there, but I really love the Star Wars themed ones–Darth Meower makes me laugh every time I see him. The dragon cat costume is another great option if you’re doing a fantasy themed game. I would love a little cat dragon companion!

Build/Buy Content

This is a little selection of indoor build/buy furniture that I found, and I really like all of it! The fancy planter litter box is one of my personal favorites, because it’s an in game version of a real life object. Fancy litter boxes hidden in furniture are so fun and cool, and I think they’re a great way to save space in small apartments or homes while also making the unsightly litter box a little less unsightly. The only thing that’ll tip off your guests is maybe the smell…so make sure your Sims do a good job cleaning the litter box every couple of days!

I love dog agility courses, they do a great job of allowing for a good workout for you and your pup while also having tons of fun! This set allows for you to disguise your agility equipment as part of the natural environment, perfect for any yard with a naturalistic theme or as part of a forest-themed dog park. The stone platform might be my favorite–look how happy the dog is to stand up there and pose! That’s a good boy!

These beds are absolutely adorable! The ones that came with the original Cats and Dogs pack were fine as starters, but I’m always looking for pet beds that I can use in my Sims’ homes that are both functional and stylish. Pets deserve fancy furniture, too! The fancy modern dog house is one of my favorites, it makes me think of placing it outside one of the fabulously modern homes in Oasis Springs and being like a mini version of the real house. That’s one of my all-time favorite genres of pet furniture by far–furniture that looks like smaller versions of human things.
