About the Pack

Adventure Awaits was released earlier in October 2025. This expansion pack brings the outdoors and life’s adventures to your Sims, allowing the player to completely customize getaway themes and locations. You can have anything from a standard kids camp to a yoga retreat, or an elimination competition. Or if you want to get fancy, anything related to the skills and interactions in-game. The system is similar to Businesses and Hobbies, and you can utilize elements from other packs.
The Expansion Adventure Awaits adds a new world called Gibbi Point. Gibbi Point looks to be a world themed off of New Zealand and includes the flightless ‘Plumbird.’ The world has rabbit hole shops, areas to explore, great photo opportunities, and thirteen new lot spaces.
Adventure Awaits also brings new skills, Papercraft, Archery, Diving, and Entomology (the study of insects). So let’s get to it. What did I love about this pack?
Things I love
Let’s take a look at all the things I really enjoyed about this pack and what stacks up as my top five.
1 – The Jellyfish Hat

You need humor in your life, and humor has been very much a part of the Sims since it started. This jellyfish hat adds to that and looks absolutely ridiculous and amazing all at the same time, and I love it.
2 – Water Activities

The water activities are a big plus for me in this pack. Sims can now kayak, use a diving board, and use a pool slide. For a pack that is all about adventure and recreation, these three elements are all wonderful additions.
3 – The World

The world of Gibbi Point is absolutely stunning with great lighting and photo opportunities around every corner. It has quickly become one of my favorite locations to take photos!
4 – Freedom of Creativity

Adventure Awaits getaways system is very much a combination of the Businesses and Hobbies small Business system, and the Event and Calendar system together. What you create is really limited to your own creativity and what packs you have. But really, you can make getaways and retreats however you would like, themed on whatever you come up with. I do like this flexibility and freedom of creativity.
5 – Send Your Kids to Camp

So I did figure out that you can set your kids up for Camp every day of the week, minus an hourish, by setting up recurring Camps. I have not done this more than two times, but it’s a good way to keep them entertained and get their skills up, while not being at home.
Things I do not like
With anything, there are going to be things we enjoy and don’t enjoy. Adventures Awaits definitely has that effect for me.
1 – No ‘Wow’ Factor

As lovely as the world is, none of the gameplay features struck me with a wow factor. Most are ‘nice to have,’ and that is about it. When the sunken hot tub is one of the most exciting things about an entire expansion pack, we have an issue.
2 – Most of The CAS Clothing

I will admit first that this is not my preferred style. But omg, I really had a hard time finding outfits from the Create a Sim (CAS) in Adventures Awaits tolerable to take photos of to showcase.
3 – Elimination Retreat Picks

I have tried, and I just have no idea of the rhyme or reason certain Sims get eliminated over the others. Or as the host even explains how to select who gets eliminated. I guess it is off to Google to figure this out!
Final Thoughts
There are a lot of things I really enjoy about the Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack, but I wouldn’t say this pack is in my top ten Expansion Packs. As I have had the pack for about a month now, and after my initial review, I seldom use it, aside from taking pictures in the world, the archery objects, the hot tub, the diving board, and the slide.

I think a lot has to do with the fact that it is not quite my preferred type of gameplay. As I am not an outdoorsy person, the great outdoors does not seem to interest me. Also, I do not enjoy the family gameplay as much as other Simmers. I try to get my Sim kids out of the house as fast as possible, most of the time aging them up to do so. My son was horrified this weekend as his Sim graduated from university, and the next day, he was in his own house.

I think maybe once I figure out how to be a better host in the elimination retreats, that may change my mind a bit, but until then, this pack is just not played with as much.
