5 Trending Downloads
This month, an impressive amount of custom content (CC) was uploaded! January was particularly notable, with 1,850 items added to TSR. Keep in mind we verify and test ALL CC here at TSR. That’s a substantial amount of CC! For this newsletter, I’ve selected five of the trending downloads to highlight. It was a difficult choice since I’ve downloaded so much of this content myself, but I aimed to showcase a variety of CC types while excluding hair, as we frequently cover that category. But you can find our hairstyle category HERE.
1 – LVNDRCC: Fusion 3D Lashes
2 – Linavees: Soft Sweater
4 – MaryChabb: Derro Walls
4 – Severinka: Lotta Kidsroom
5 – Xogerardine: Briarwood

As The Sims’ 25th anniversary approaches, the excitement within the Sims Community is palpable. Fans eagerly anticipate a wealth of new content and updates to celebrate this significant milestone. Over the years, The Sims has evolved into a beloved franchise, and this anniversary promises to bring even more innovations, features, and engaging gameplay. Community members already share their hopes and expectations, creating a vibrant atmosphere of anticipation and nostalgia. This celebration is about the game and the memories players have built over the years. With so much to look forward to, it’s an exciting time to be part of The Sims community!

January introduced three new Sims 4 Kits, a couple game updates, a comprehensive list of fixes, and numerous announcements. The new kits are the Comfy Gamer Kit, the Secret Sanctuary Kit, and the Casanova Cave Kit, which you can read about HERE. The next Roadmap was unveiled, revealing surprises along with many Community predictions and unconfirmed leaks as we approach the Sims 25th Anniversary. A new game launcher screen has also been implemented, along with other updates. More detailed information can be found in the following blogs: Jan 28th Update and the Laundry List.
How are Simmers Playing the Sims in January 2024
I’ve noticed many Simmers embracing cozy decorating this January. For many, decorating is a relaxing way to unwind while gaming, listening to music, and creating beautiful lots for their Sims. In this trend toward cozy decor, I’ve seen a rise in occult building challenges, where each room features a different occult theme. Additionally, many Simmers are designing community lots such as wedding venues, cafes, restaurants, and parks.
In addition to building and decorating, I’ve noticed an increase in the 100 baby, woohoo, and legacy challenges. Additionally, more Simmers are engaging in general gameplay; this was previously dominated by Create-a-Sim (CAS) and Build/Buy modes. Nowadays, gameplay streams and photos are shared more frequently on social media.
What is Coming Next
We will embrace nostalgic themes in February as we celebrate The Sims’ 25th Anniversary. Here at TSR, we also have exciting Valentine’s Day plans for everyone to enjoy, so stay tuned—it’s all coming very soon!
As always, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our artists, staff, and community for making this month incredible. We honestly could not have done it without your support and assistance.
