First, double check the installation instructions to be sure that you have installed them correctly.
Often, objects are clones of existing items in the game. They will not show up as new items in buy mode but will show as a color alternative, just like paintings do. If you have downloaded a batch of objects, try clicking on items in buy mode and check out all the new color alternatives you have for them.
