Fall is one of my favorite seasons for fashion and colors, so why not combine three of my favorite things and look at trending Fall colors for Sims? That’s right—Fall, fashion, and Sims! In this article, we will look at a load of looks filled with links to custom content, CC, that you can find here at TSR! Just look for the links below the images; they will take you directly to the CC highlights in the image!
The Research
I do a lot of research for trend blogs, including Pinterest, TikTok, fashion magazines, fashion bloggers, interior design blogs, and well-known paint companies. Many companies have colors of the year based on design and fashion trends; we typically see these colors released in Fall and Winter. Many of these trending colors that I have found from researching trends pair closely with these upcoming Colors of the Year.

Typical Fall Colors
Fall colors for the Sims generally reflect real-life, IRL trends, so we always expect to see some typical fall colors represented in fashion and style. These typical Fall colors are natural tones such as browns, grays, creams, olive greens, burnt oranges, deep reds, dark purples, and muted blue tones. For pops of color, Orange is a common choice in interior design and fashion for Fall.
White Swan
CC Highlights – Hair, Rings, Lip Gloss, Lip liner, Dress, & Boots
I absolutely love this look. This dress with the cardigan and boots is absolutely stunning for early Fall! White Swan is an off-white muted tone and a perfect color that looks so elegant. It looks good as a primary fashion color and an accent.
Moonstruck
CC Highlights – Hair, Suit, & Shoes
Moonstruck is an excellent medium to light gray that pairs well with other Fall colors and looks good. I selected the suit so that we could have a mix of fancy, casual, and relaxed looks for our Fall Colors for Sims Blog.
Fern
CC Highlights – Hair, Skin Detail, Sim Creator, Lipgloss, Earrings, Sweater, skirt, Tights & Boots
I absolutely love this outfit! Evelyn is rocking the color Fern! I was unsure about this shade, but it works well with brown and cream hues. I tried this color independently and did not like it nearly as much as with other fall tones. So I suggest pairing it with brown, cream, or both, like in this outfit. I would imagine gold or rose gold accessories would also look lovely with this Fern shade.
Tomato Cream
CC Highlights – Sim, Outfit set, Tights, & Boots
When I read the color shade named Tomato Cream, I was expecting a more red shade. However, that is not the case. This lovely muted but brighter orange shade works solo or with other shades. Oranges are always super famous around Fall, and I think that is because that is the color pumpkins are. This shade definitely gives me more pumpkin vibes than tomatoes.
Golden Palm
CC Highlights – blush, Dress, tights, and Boots
Golden Palm is a shade that combines gold, brown, and yellow, giving it a nice, rich fall tone. This shade is definitely one I would expect to see trending in Fall every year and is a great main or accent color. Golden Palm was a tricky color to find for Fall Colors for Sims in CC, but I am happy with the results of my efforts. Sunny, our model, also has some nice Cottagecore and academia mix aesthetic with this outfit.
Moss Appeal
CC Highlights – Hair, Facial Hair, Skin Detail, Skin, Outfit, & Boots
Moss Appeal was another tricky color in Sims CC; it worked very well for our model, Carlos. I feared the worst when I looked at this color swatch and the IRL fashion, but I am grateful that it looks good in CC!
Italian Plum
CC Highlights – Hair, Skin, Lip gloss, Sweater, skirt, Tights, & Boots
I love these sweater, skirt, tights, and boot combination looks. Sure, there are sets on TSR that you can use, but you can also mix and match, giving you endless combinations of looks for your Sims. This shade is also stunning, and I love Italian Plum.
Chocolate Decadence
CC Highlights – Hair, Skin Detail, Outfit set, & Boots
I saw this outfit and knew I had to use it for one of the looks for this Fall Colors for Sims blog! I am so happy this outfit’s swatches were included in the Fall 2024 trending colors! Brown hues are another typical fall trend, and Chocolate Decadence is another shade you can combine or wear as a solid color in outfits. It pairs well with cream colors, browns, greens, reds, oranges, but you can also pair it with blues and yellows.
Dark Dull Gray
CC Highlights – Hair, Sweatshirt, Pants, and Shoes
I was so happy to find a trendy look that was more relaxed in the masculine style to really get that variety in the styles for this blog. This Dark Gull Gray sweatshirt works so well with the camo pants! The whole outfit looks great and completely comfortable.
Baritone Blue
CC Highlights – Hair, Skin Detail 1, Skin Detail 2, Skin, Lip gloss, Nails, Sweater, skirt, Tights, & Boots
I totally love this Baritone Blue shade for Fall. Not everyone likes earthy tones, so this is a great additional option for enjoying fall fashion’s muted but rich colors. This outfit is also super cute! Love that skirt pattern!
Not So Typical Fall Colors
Alright, on to the no-so-typical Fall colors trending this year. There are quite a few pastels again this year for trends. Last year, I saw several pastels and metallic shades trending. You can find the previous year’s Fall Color Trends 2023 HERE to compare looks or get more links. Can you really have enough CC Links? Let’s move on to these colors we do not generally see in fashion during the Fall!
Ballet Slipper
CC Highlights – Hair, Jacket, Jeans, and Shoes
I wanted to include as much variety in styles and ages as possible, so I have included kids in this Fall Colors for Sims Blog. Ballet Slipper is not what I would consider a typical Fall color, as it is a pastel pink. However, since the Barbie movie and the surge of Y2K fashion, pink has been around in every season and every style.
Buttery Yellow
CC Highlights – dress and Shoes
This bright Buttery Yellow is what I would consider a summer color, but it is trending in IRL and the US as a fall fashion color. I went with a semi-formal look and a solid shade to highlight this shade’s beauty.
Clear Skies
CC Highlights – Hair, dress, and Shoes
Clear Skies is a dusty blue pastel I did not expect for Fall color trends. However, it is super cute for a toddler’s formal look that can be worn during any season.
Aventurine
CC Highlights – Top, Bottoms, rings, and Shoes
Blues and green shades are trending this year and have been since Spring. I love this Aventurine shade and was so happy to find it on this sweater! It looks so cozy and a perfect business casual look.
Lemon Lime
CC Highlights – Eyeliner, rings, Piercings, top, bottoms, and Shoes
There is always one color that makes me question everything. This is it: Lemon Lime. Yes, like neon pastel lemon-lime. I am not sure what is going on in trends with this color, but I found some great CC pieces with the same color as a swatch.
The Biggest Current Color Trend – Reds
The most significant current color trend is reds. There will be loads of reds in Fall Fashion 2024. This was also the case last year, with a standard bright red being the leading trend of Fall colors in 2023. So, of course, we could not leave our Fall Colors for Sims without a group of hot red looks for this year’s Fall Fashion trends!
Dark Cherry Red
CC Highlights – suit, Necklace, and glasses
Red is again the top trending color for fall 2024. Instead of bright red, it is more of a Dark Cherry Red, as pictured here. I am a fan of this color and Carlos’s new formal look!
Scarlet Smile
CC Highlights – Hair, necklace, dress, and Sim
This muted red is stunning on a formal occasion, and since this is the only super formal dress I am highlighting, I went full formal! Scarlet Smile is such a pretty color and is perfect for Fall, Winter, and Summer, in my opinion. It reminds me of an apple color that pairs with late summer and fall here in the USA.
Burgandy Wine
CC Highlights – suit Jacket, bottoms, and Shoes
Burgandy is a super trend this Fall, so we could not leaf… it out. Burgandy Wine is a shade with a lot of red and dark purple and is absolutely rich with loveliness. I tried this jacket with jeans and khaki pants, which looked good with both! The khakis give it a more sophisticated look, which I love!
Cherry Plaid
CC Highlights – Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Contour, outfit, and Shoes
I know it is not a color, but there is one thing you can count on in the Fall and Winter: plaid and flannel! The combination of cherry red and black is the one you will generally see the most of. I own several pieces of clothing with this pattern and colors and wear them every October through March!
Final Thoughts
Of all these looks, I lean toward Buttery Yellow as my favorite outfit and color combination. However, my favorite colors are Dark Cherry and Italian Plum. I’m incredibly pleased with how these looks turned out, and I can’t wait to see Winter’s color trends! I may have gone overboard on this Fall Colors for Sims Blog, but you like links, right? There are a lot of links in these looks, so enjoy!
