Good news for Windows players. EA has stated they are rolling out The Sims 4 Trojan fix after the latest update caused false antivirus warnings.
Earlier this week, many players reported that their antivirus software detected TS4_Launcher_x64.exe as a Trojan. In some cases, the launcher was quarantined. As a result, the game would not launch.
EA has now released a targeted update to resolve the issue, as stated on an EA forum post:
“Hi all,
A targeted Windows-only update is rolling out now to resolve the digital signature issue preventing The Sims 4 from launching.
Since this fix only updates the launcher, your game version will not change and your mods/CC will be completely unaffected.
Thank you all for your patience while we got this sorted out!”
What does The Sims 4 Trojan fix do?
The Sims 4 Trojan fix only updates the Windows launcher.
It does not change the game version. It also does not affect your save files, mods or custom content.
If your antivirus previously quarantined the launcher, you may need to repair your game through the EA App after the update has installed.
Why did antivirus software detect a Trojan?
