Drab to Fab: The Sims 4 Goth Family Bedroom Gets a Gothic Makeover!

Where are all the home design Simmers at? You are all in for a treat today – no tricks! It has been a while since our last edition of Drab to Fab, so I have a special one for you that is perfect for Halloween! Since it is Halloween, we got a call from the Goths. Today we are giving them the Sims 4 Goth Bedroom Makeover they deserve. We’re turning their master bedroom from drab to fab with CC all from TSR. So let’s dig up the details. If you are new here, I provide links to the CC you will see in the remodel, so get your download basket ready!

The Project

Bella was just not happy with her aged master bedroom. She and Mortimer requested an updated design with more decor, but still wanted to keep that vintage, Goth family vibe. And of course, Bella demanded the room be primarily red… of course.

The Results

Still images from before and after always make the room look like it only took moments to remodel. When in reality, that is not what happened at all. This is a rather large space to work with, so I kept the sections very similar to what they were previously, adding the room divider to make the bed area and entrance a bit more private. I recreated the seating area to have a bit more Goth family and romantic vibes and, of course, added a record player and that cozy rug.

For the bed in particular, I wanted something grand but vintage-feeling, with a little bit of that Victorian-era vibe this house could have had. So I went with the accent Wood wall and the canopy bed, and it did not disappoint. The wood accent wall breaks up the red wallpaper and decently matches the wood under the wallpaper well.

I definitely went heavier on the decor than I had planned, but that is what the client asked for, and well, more CC links for you all. It is a little more than I would like, and I like everything exactly level across, but I want to, like, collage walls that are not. Anyways, it is what the client wants, so we are good there.

The Goths were definitely living in a very simplistic room, but now not so much. A lot is going on in these rooms, with plenty of storage for all their vintage and antique items, which is what Bella wanted. The room has a ton of red and still has plenty of open space. I think job well done and another happy client.

Hello, I’m Jezi! I’ve been Simming since the very beginning, and my love for The Sims has only grown over the years, especially when it comes to CC! Outside of Simming, I love gothic and heavy metal aesthetics, animals, nature, Dungeons & Dragons, fashion, and, of course, video games. When I’m not gaming, you can usually find me writing, swimming, watching movies, or making soap. My partner and I share our wonderfully chaotic life with three teenagers, a dog, and one very mischievous cat who keeps all of us on our toes.
