Drab to Fab #3 – Spring Sims 4 Flower Shop

Welcome to another edition of Drab to Fab! This time, we have an exciting project: creating a flower shop for an anonymous client. To keep things competitive, we remained anonymous to prevent the Crumplebottoms from researching the new venture before the grand opening. We aim to make this transformation quick while incorporating that charming Henford-on-Bagley feel with a more modernized twist. Let’s dive into the Sims 4 Flower Shop in this edition of Drab to Fab!

The Before

The area designated for the flower shop was originally a back hallway, an office, and a bathroom. While these spaces fit the theme of the home, they were largely unused. The office was too small to accommodate the entire flower shop, so we combined it with the washroom by removing the second bathroom. However, the space remains limited, providing just enough room for a shop front and a public restroom. Let’s look at how the work turned out for this Sims 4 flower shop.

The After

Since the core function of this redesign is a retail shop, it was essential to provide ample space for Sims to move around. I chose two doors for easy access in and out of the building. Most of the custom content (CC) I included is decorative, as I utilized the Business and Hobbies retail stands to sell the floral designs. The main goal of this Sims 4 Flower Shop was to create a modern atmosphere filled with plants. I added wall ivy behind the display shelves to give the shop more depth. Incorporating a few floor and wall plants and wall decor featuring additional plants contributes to a cozy, plant-filled vibe in the shop.

The Room

I chose a spring-like green pastel wallpaper with a simple yet elegant pattern. The wallpaper’s white trim and crown molding complemented the white brick pattern beautifully, unifying both wall coverings. To keep the backdrop for the flower arrangement clean and tidy, I aimed to avoid any distractions from the merchandise. I selected a lovely blonde hardwood floor, as a white wood floor would have been too bright for the room.

The Decor & Plants

I chose a few elements for wall decor featuring plants and bags that you might find in a gardening shop. I aimed to keep the walls clean and uncluttered while ensuring enough decor to avoid a plain appearance. This approach allowed the decorations to complement the floral arrangements beautifully. Of course, any unused space was filled with floor plants, wall plants, and hanging plants!

Final Results

The Sims 4 flower shop turned out great, and I’m pleased to report that it was completely sold out within seven hours of opening day! The layout was functional, allowing customers to navigate and shop easily. However, I would suggest a few improvements: more space, a proper counter and register, and a seating area for customers. Despite these enhancements, given the space constraints and the need for a quick design, everything turned out well, and our clients are very happy with the results.
