So let’s check out some ways to spice up your Sims 4 gameplay with Challenges.

What are Sims 4 Challenges

Sims 4 100 Baby Challenge

A Sims 4 Challenge is a structured gameplay style with specific rules, goals, or restrictions. Instead of playing exactly how you feel atm you, challenges encourage you to step outside your usual playstyle and try something new.

The Classic Sims 4 Challenges

Many Sims 4 Challenges have stood the test of time, entertaining Simmers across gaming generations. Some of these Challenges even started in the original Sims game. They’ve definitely stood the test of time. So we are going to pick 10 classic Sims 4 challenges to list right here.

1 – Not So Berry Challenge

The Not So Berry Challenge is said to have been created by lilsimsie and alwaysimming in 2017. It is a ten-generation legacy challenge that focuses on colors like its predecessor in previous versions of the game: Berry Sims Challenge. This fan favorite is available HERE from lilsimsie.

2 – 100 Baby Challenge

This Sims 4 Challenge is pure chaos, and we are totally here for it. The goal is for one mother or father to have 100 babies in one Sim’s lifetime. Sometimes there are more rules, but just 100 is hard enough! I’ve only made it to 17. HERE is a 100 Baby Challenge Guide by Snarky Sims if you are looking for more information

3 – Rags to Riches Challenge

The Rags to Riches Challenge is another original favorite. Like most Classic Challenges, it has different variations. However, the core rules are to do whatever it takes to change your Sim’s lifestyle from 0 Simoleons to fabulously wealthy, or whatever your end goal is. Find a guide by SimishGamer HERE all about the Rags to Riches Mega Challenge.

4 – Decades Challenge

If you enjoy story-building and historical gameplay, try the Decades Challenge. You start out in a specific decade or historical period and work through time with your generations. I’ve personally seen Simmers start in the Old Stone Age. Read more about the Sims 4 Decade Challenge Rules HERE.

5 – Legacy  Challenge

The classic Legacy Challenge originally started as 10 generations; one would think that would be easy, but with additional restrictions on money, no cheats, and inheritance conditions… You know your Sims will make it total chaos and drama, in the best way possible. You can find the Sims Legacy Challenge Rules HERE.

6 – Black Widow Challenge

This Challenge has been around for a very, very long time, and honestly, if you love chaos, scandals, and romance… this is your Challenge. The goal is to have your Sim marry wealthy partners and inherit their fortunes after their untimely demise… whether forced or not. You can find a guide with easy rules for this challenge HERE.

7 – Asylum Challenge

The Asylum Challenge is all about playing one Sim in a crowded household of Sims with challenging traits and limited resources. All while you complete specified aspirations, with all other Sims on full autonomy. This challenge is an older classic, and you can find the 12-year-old guide HERE.

8 – Drifter Challenge

The Drifter Challenge is another classic that focuses on multi-generational gameplay and combines legacy, rags-to-riches, and building elements. This challenge includes 24 houses, each with different rules, requirements, and goals. To read more, check out the challenge creator, Vihisha’s Thread on the EA Forums HERE.

9 – Kleptomaniac Challenge

The Klepto King or Kleptomaniac Challenge has been around since at least Sims 3, and it is still a popular classic Sims 4 Challenge. The idea is that the played Sim cannot buy anything… ever. You must steal everything from other Sims, and you can’t get a job. As an older challenge, it has many variations. HERE is one of the guides for this Challenge.

10 – Disney Princess Legacy Challenge

This classic Sims 4 Challenge has also been around since at least Sims 3. This is a Legacy Challenge, but with a lot more. Each generation has a different princess theme, starting with Snow White and running for 10 generations; some content creators have expanded it, so you can find more princess generations if you search. The oldest guide I found is from MissPlaying, 12 years ago, and you can find it HERE.

Final Thoughts

The Sims 4 is one of those games where there is really no wrong way to play. And of course these Sims 4 Challenge rules and guidelines are just that… guidelines. Hello, I’m Jezi! I’ve been Simming since the very beginning, and my love for The Sims has only grown over the years, especially when it comes to CC! Outside of Simming, I love gothic and heavy metal aesthetics, animals, nature, Dungeons & Dragons, fashion, and, of course, video games. When I’m not gaming, you can usually find me writing, swimming, watching movies, or making soap. My partner and I share our wonderfully chaotic life with three teenagers, a dog, and one very mischievous cat who keeps all of us on our toes.
