Room Reno #14: Beachy Bedroom

Welcome back to Room Reno #14 here at The Sims Resource! Today we’re helping a young adult who’s redoing a bland guest room into her dream room. Let’s meet her!

Meet Meg!

Meg is coming home from university and will be living with her grandparents, Mark and Trinity, for the summer. There’s just one problem–her grandparents’ house, much like Mark and Trinity themselves, is…old. The guest room they have for her is dated, dusty, and not at all the ideal space for Meg’s home away from school. Let’s see what we’re working with so we can transform the space!

The Before

Mark and Trinity’s guest room is…pretty bland. The walls are brown, the accents are green, and there’s just not that much else to it. While I love earth tones, there’s gotta be a better way to feature them in a room than what’s currently going on. Luckily, Meg wants a different palette of earth tones entirely–she loves the beach and wants a room that reminds her of it, with lots of tans and oranges and corals. The room is huge, so hopefully I can fit everything Meg wants inside it! Let’s get planning.

The Planning

This is a big room, so breaking up the space visually is going to be one of my main goals. The I placed the bed across from the entrance in order to make it the focal point of the room, and then sat a small couch in front of it to create a sitting area. The couch helps make the “bed area” feel separate from the “living area”, even though they’re very close together. I want to put a desk right by the door in case Meg has any summer homework to catch up on (even if she wants to pretend she doesn’t!). Let’s get building!

The After

Pretense of Sea Set Southwind Beach Bedroom Set Pixelette Skincare Set Tropic Like It’s Hot Set Evelina Kid’s Room Stool
Island Paradise Set Newport Rug Surface Notebook Like A Sunday Blanket Marjolaine Sneakers
Fairy Lights Fiora Light Aeon Cactus Lusso Candles Scandinavian Wall
