This tutorial will teach you how to create an arched bridge in The Sims 3 in a very easy way. Even for a beginner. There are a few things to think of after you have built your bridge and those are:
- As we are using a cheat, remember to turn it off.
- Always test your bridge with Sims.
- Also test your lot on another location as it has been said the bridge doesn’t work properly if the lot is moved.
So let’s move on to the building.
Step 1
Build 2 1×1 foundation blocks with an uneven number of tiles between them. Uneven numbers makes the best result.
Step 2
Build another 1×1 foundation block in the middle, 1 tile out on the side. This allows you to place floor tiles between the 2 blocks.
Step 3
Drag the floor across and then delete the extra foundation block.
Step 4
Choose some stairs you like and a fence you like. The fence can be added later when you are finished if you prefer that.
Step 5
Now use the raise terrain tool with the smallest circular brush and maximum strength and raise the terrain a few clicks 2 tiles from the bridge. Just so you create a small hill.
Step 6
Build a 1×1 foundation block over the hill.
Step 7
Now bring up the cheat box and enable the cheat “constrainfloorelevation false.”
Use the terrain leveling tool and start on the foundation and drag it over the bridge, leaving 1 tile on each side.
Step 8
The result will be like this.
Remove the foundation you just placed.
Step 9
Use the terrain tool again on the same spot and raise the terrain slightly less than before. This will create a curved form of the bridge.
Step 10
Drag the foundation tool from the apex of the hill and make 2 blocks.
Step 11
Use the terrain leveling tool again and this time leave 2 tiles on each side.
Step 12
Delete the foundation you just made and use the terrain raise tool again, clicking slightly less than before.
Step 13
Drag the foundation tool from the apex of the hill and make 3 blocks.
Step 14
Use the terrain leveling tool again and in my example it’s only the center tile you drag it over the bridge.
Release it and the result is this:
Step 15
Remove the foundation, level the ground. And the most important thing, disable the cheat: “constrainfloorelevation true.”
Now you are done with the building. Make the surroundings pretty, add a pond and some foliage, using the moveobjects cheat. Don’t forget to disable this cheat too.
Hope you have fun building your own arched bridge in The Sims 3!
