As we welcome May, EA has released 3 New Sims 4 Kits this spring: the Golden Years Kit, the Kitchen Clutter Kit, and the Restoration Workshop Kit. These innovative Kits thoughtfully fill some of the content gaps players have encountered, sparking excitement among the Sims community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore these 3 New Sims 4 Kits. Let’s delve into each one and discover this newly released content!
Golden Years Kit

We’re thrilled to share that one of the most sought-after content areas—enhanced options for Elder Sims—has been addressed! The newly released Golden Years Kit offers delightful, official content tailored to this vibrant age group. This charming kit features a variety of thoughtfully designed accessories that celebrate the beauty of life at this wonderful stage, including an emergency alert necklace, glasses, rings, gardening gloves, a hair scarf, and a sleeping bonnet.
What You Get in This Kit

I really appreciate the overall color palette of the Gold Age Kit. The vibrant earthy tones, floral patterns, and muted pastel shades align perfectly with the current Spring 2025 color trends, which I may have mentioned in a blog. The CAS (Create-A-Sim) items in this kit reflect activities one would typically associate with Elder Sims. When I look at these outfits, I envision these Sims engaging in activities such as gardening, cooking, birdwatching, cleaning, traveling, light exercise, or visiting a local coffee shop.
Kitchen Clutter Kit

The Kitchen Clutter Kit is thoughtfully designed to elevate the charm of your beautifully styled kitchen with delightful details. While numerous custom content items are available, this kit offers officially curated options for The Sims 4. Introducing clutter into a Sim’s kitchen enhances authenticity, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. These enchanting details are crucial for achieving a cohesive and inviting look, and this kit provides the perfect array of kitchen accessories to help you bring that vision to life. Embrace the possibilities and transform your space!
What You Get in This Kit

This kit was challenging to photograph due to the excessive clutter! I chose some lovely yellow and wood cabinets and counters from the Cottage Living Expansion for my surfaces, but quickly ran out of space. Is this not what Simmers have been asking for? I know you all enjoy adding clutter to make your rooms look lived-in. You can easily achieve that with the Kitchen Clutter Kit, even with an open cereal box. Plus, there are bonus points for the stacking containers!

Restoration Workshop Kit

There is an exciting opportunity to enhance the workshop and workstation features! While the creative arts are wonderfully represented, expanding options for restoration and fixer-upper activities would be fantastic. The Restoration Workshop Kit offers items to help your Sim create a vibrant workshop environment, enriching their gameplay experience.
What You Get in This Kit

First of all, yes, the totes can stack! The Restoration Workshop Kit includes items perfect for a workshop or garage. I particularly like the toolboxes and benches, as they will enhance many complete builds, allowing builders to create workshop areas in garages or dedicated sections of their designs. There’s even sawdust in this kit for your woodworking Sims! I plan to record a video on these 3 New Sims 4 Kits, since I’m curious whether these adorable retro kitchen appliances can be cleaned. I really hope they can!
Summary
Oddly enough, I was most excited about the breaker panels included in the Restoration Workshop Kit. (I think I play too much Phasmophobia.) However, it’s true that since the For Rent Expansion Pack, we have seen more utility and core elements, like those found in our homes, added to the game. Before introducing the thermostat, our Sims didn’t have heat or air conditioning. I enjoy these additions the most because they allow players to make their lots feel more realistic. Even if an item lacks in-game functionality, it still helps to make the build resemble an actual house.

I believe these 3 New Sims 4 Kits significantly enhance your gameplay. While custom content is already available for many of these items, I argue that the Restoration Workshop has the most unique offerings among the three kits. Personally, I like the aesthetic of the Golden Years Kit the best, along with the potential of the Kitchen Clutter Kit. I have all three kits, but the usefulness of each largely depends on your play style in The Sims 4. For instance, if you mainly focus on interior design, you might want to prioritize kits like Kitchen Clutter rather than CAS kits. Conversely, if creating Sims is your primary focus, you would likely prefer the Golden Years Kit over the item kits. And of course, if you’re like me, it’s like playing Pokémon: “Gotta Catch Them All!”
