The Sims 4 Update: Quick Fixes, Clutter Fixes, and a Grim New Look!

Sul Sul, Simmers!

EA just dropped a new Sims 4 update (1.28.2025), bringing several much-needed bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. While this patch doesn’t introduce new gameplay features, it does tidy up some lingering issues from the last update—especially for those of us who love a cluttered Build Mode!

Here’s everything you need to know about the latest patch:

Bug Fixes & Updates

Base Game Fixes

  • San Myshuno Festivals Clean-Up – If you’ve noticed rogue coffee cups, floating plates, and crates mysteriously appearing around the city, they should be gone now. Festival objects from events like the Romance Festival, Flea Market, Spice Festival, and Humor & Hijinks Festival will no longer overlap on lots.
  • CAS Adjustments – A few clothing issues were patched up, including:
    • The full-body robe and boxers (ymBody_SP60RobeBoxers), which was mistakenly available for female tagged Sims, is now fixed.
    • The Casanova Cave Top (ymTop_SP60Vest) now properly tucks in.
  • Faster Hover Tips – When moving your mouse around the HUD, tooltips now pop up more quickly.
  • CAS Stories Improvement – You can now update a Sim’s traits and aspirations even after finishing the Create-a-Sim Story Mode!
  • Easier Travel – The “Travel” interaction is now easier to access, both by clicking on your Sim and from the phone menu.

Grim’s New Look

The Grim Reaper just got a ghastly makeover! His tattered robe now reveals skeletal ribs, and his fingers are now full-on skeleton hands. It’s the perfect eerie touch for one of The Sims’ most iconic NPCs.

Build/Buy Fixes

Clutter lovers, rejoice! Clutter objects that weren’t appearing under the Clutter tag in Build Mode have now been fixed, making it easier to find and place all your small décor items.

EA Forums & Patch Notes Migration

This update also marks EA’s official shift to EA Forums as the new hub for patch notes, bug reporting, and community engagement. If you run into any new issues, that’s where you’ll want to submit your reports. You can also stay up to date by following @TheSimsDirect on X (Twitter) or joining The Sims Discord.

Final Thoughts

While this patch is mostly about fixing glitches, the Grim Reaper’s spooky upgrade and the CAS Story Mode update are nice little surprises. Have you noticed any improvements (or new bugs)?

Happy Simming! 🏡✨
